Suebiker Posted May 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2019 HI - has anyone done this tour ? Just wondering if you get to see the actual horse show or do you just get to see the museum. Also - how long is the horse show? Not sure whether to do this tour or book "Jerez on your own tour" and do the stables independently. Not sure if there will be sufficient time to see show as the Jerez on your own tour starts at 9.30am and finishes at 2.30pm. Horse show starts at 12 midday. Any suggestions! We went on the "Jerez on your own" the last time and went to a sherry tasting and ended up not going anywhere else! 🙂 the sherry was nice. There was time to do other things as there was ample spare time but the sun was shinning and it was hot so found a nice bar in the main square and had a few beers, very nice just sitting and people watching. Suebiker Posted May 11, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted May 11, 2019 Thanks for the response - Can you remember roughly how long the journey from Cadiz to Jerez was ?
silversurf1 Posted May 12, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2019 We did this excursion last year. Excellent. we saw the horse show which was amazing, then went on to a sherry bodega for tasting. Sorry can’t remember timings.
Suebiker Posted May 12, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted May 12, 2019 Thanks that's great - was there much walking on the tour, and were there many steps to navigate? My husband has mobility issues . Thanks
silversurf1 Posted May 12, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2019 You needed to walk from the coach through the gardens to get to the horse show. The seats are tiered so there will be steps as well. I use a manual wheelchair which my partner pushes and there is a lift for one wheelchair to a special area with a really good view, but you need to reserve this with P and O then confirm with excursion desk when on board. It worked very well. At the bodega there is walking from the coach to the sherry tasting area. Can’t remember any steps there. I’m sure you will love it. Rare Presto2 Posted May 12, 2019 #10 Share Posted May 12, 2019 We did this many years ago 2010 and to be honest we were disappointed. The sherry tasting was ok but the visit to see the horses was not what we expected. All we saw was the training of the horses to raise on their rear legs -- lots of whips and making them do it. It really was not what we expected and would not recommend. Sorry
