Carnival Elation - No Fridge?

When I sailed on the the Elation last it didn't have a fridge. Unless they have changed things all the Fantasy Class ships are Fridge free. I always bring a cooler and have the Steward keep it filled with ice.

Was that before their recent drydock or after?

I believe some balconies and/or suites might have them. Interiors are going to be fridge-free on Fantasy class.

All cabins on Elation now have fridges.  They took out the drawers under the desk and put in the cabinet for the fridge.  We had a porthole cabin on her after drydock and we had a fridge.  EM

Do you remember what cabin you were in? I have a porthole cabin on the Elation in November and am wondering about the refrigerator and also if there are more USB ports or electrical outlets.

There are also two more USB outlets beside the bed next to the porthole wall.  EM

Thank you! Our friends are in M24 and we're in M30 so I'd imagine they should look pretty similar. Very happy about the USB plug ins!

Most cabins will not. Have gotten used to them

and see no reason to go on a ship without them.

.

I couldn't agree with you more!

Sub-standard ships from the last century and last millenium definitely need to go!

Such ships

are going to start looking really old when Mardi Gras comes out!

As long as they make money for cruise lines they will stay but would think that after a cruise or two people would want to try a newer ship

Carnival still continues to fill eight Fantasy class ships every week and they have continued to invest money in these ships. I think it is safe to say these ships aren’t going away any time soon.

Rumor has it though that one or more of the Fantasy class is up for sale and has been for quite some time

I would think at some point Carnival can’t keep adding new ships without eventually getting rid of their older ships. Speaking of rumors, I have heard multiple times now that the VIFP program is going to announce changes some time this year.  However, I have learned not to put too much faith in rumors I hear related to Carnival.

From your mouth to God's ear!

Generally speaking, they nibble away at this antiquated class

from the bottom up - i.e. the oldest ones go first...

in which case the rumoured ships would be Carnival Fantasy/Ecstasy

built in 1990 and 1991 = twenty-nine years ago!

Surely, they now owe us nothing!
