Drinks on us at the casino

So, do you not need to be sitting actively at a machine/table and playing for drinks?  I'm very curious about this, because if I have the casino drinks on them package, I'm wondering if it's even worth doing the unlimited drinks package.  I don't want to be sitting a slot/table all day just to get booze, but I also rather save my money for excursions and other activities.

In only one instance over many cruises with DOU cards have we had a bar server insist that we must be playing and in that case, hubby sat at a machine, put his card in, got his drink and we moved on.   Also, I will point out that we do tip, and try to get the same waiter (or a few regulars) as much as possible.

If you are already getting the DOU card, I would suggest you don't need the Cheers! package in addition.  You can pay for individual drinks if/when you are out of the casino, and if you are a beer drinker it is entirely possible to stockpile for other days.  You can get a drink every 15 minutes.

We booked a cruise for November on the Miracle on a Casino Offer I received, and I've been wondering if the free drinks only apply to me or also to my husband.  Thanks to everyone who's commented and provided info!  I just emailed the players club folks to confirm my deals.

They responded to my email and said I don't have free drinks, but my PVP said I did when we booked.  I guess it will just be a surprise when we get on board!

My bonus was called Hot streak and the email carnival sent said free drinks in it which I saved so I can show onboard if there are any issues. Maybe go back and check your emails also confirm with your PVP carnival isn't  the best for customer service most of them don't know what anything is. Hope this helps happy cruising.

Been following this thread for information for a September cruise.  I apologize that I'm not familiar with some of the offer terminology but will try to provide some background.  I will be traveling with my mother on the upcoming cruise out of NOLA. We were both on one previous Carnival cruise (October 2017 - Pride). I'm the planner and was initally booking this cruise with a "returning cruiser" offer. My PVP booked using a "casino" offer that was in my mother's account (but not mine), which provides a DOU card for her, presumably not for me 🙂 . She doesn't drink alcohol, but I do.  Not really looking to break any rules, more just what to expect when on board.

If she is eligible for the DOU card (or you are), it will be tied to your folio and the card itself is just for show.  You can't use the "card" to get drinks.

Booked the Hot Streak offer yesterday and my PVP saiid the drinks on us card would only be for me only...different from the premier and ultra.  I did print my email that states drinks on us included and I will bring that as I have had issues before and the email got me the card.

Cheers good luck and happy cruising.

You can order any drinks with the DOU card.  Unfortunately, you can't just go up to the bar and order a drink with the card.  You have to be playing and a waiter will come around and serve you.  In most cases, you can move to another machine and they will find you after you have ordered your drink.  I have had one deliver my drink while I was walking around looking for another machine to play.  But I was at a machine when I ordered it.  You can however, go to the casino bar and pay for a drink.

I had one come over and had me sign the slip for the drink and then walk away with the drink.  I had to chase her down to get my drink.  This was on the Dream.

You always need to sign for it but yeah, they get distracted and swamped like the rest of us at work.

Most of the casino offers with the exception of the Premier (Getaway, Premier, Ultra, etc) are for the individual and do don't include the other party in the room.  Some offers will say Drinks on Us included*   Then at the very bottom in small print it states *once you qualify which goes back to earning points.   Good idea to bring your email, but it is very likely that the DOU perk is for you only at the start.

There is no rule to prevent your mother from buying you a drink here and there.  She can also use the DOU perk to order sodas, and other non-alcoholic drinks free of charge in the casino.
