Right, it is not final until it is accepted by the judge. It does give an idea of where this might end up, but that is all.

 

And I imagine if they are found violating terms again, it could really get ugly.

I agree with the other comments. It is possible,  but not highly likely that the judge may not accept the deal. But judges accept deals in cases when both sides have agreed in probably over 90% of the cases.

 

All those people who were sure Carnival Corp was going to be banned from Alaska, that 20 ships ( Carnival Corp's presence in Alaska) would just appear out of thin air to replace Carnival Corp in Alaska, that perhaps Carnival Corp would just collapse, causing huge economic disruption in a number of locations....are going to be very disappointed.
