Booked select fare but can't select cabin?!

I think my point was rather if you phone up to book, with the deck plan in front of you. You can see the different coloured cabins which denote the grade.  

I would never try to book a cruise on line..too much money involved.

I have tried dummy bookings with the new site ..it asked if one wanted aft/fore/midships and all the ones inbetween..so if i also had a deck plan open at the same time i would work out from that.
