Wearing a lanyard

This is my ID holder... pressure holder with a slide ejector... add your choice of lanyard and it is very easy to use. Card slides out fast to hand over for a drink or charge and slides back in easily.Ā  I put it away when off ship or sometimes the whole thing is in my pocket rather than around my neck. But it makes the card easy to find and keep track of since I don't carry a wallet around the ship.

I use a lanyard with a plastic pouch when I am on the ship except to dinner.Ā  I generally don't carry a purse.Ā  The pouch is also convenient to carry a few ones for tips to the bartender. I do not wear a lanyard off the ship.Ā

If you wear an lanyard to hold your cruise card do you get it punched or put it into a plastic pocket?

Either or, some cruise lines cards are already hole punched but it doesn't really matter as we have lanyards that have a pouch and a zippered pocket as well.

Lanyards tell everyone ashore that you are a tourist.Ā  JMO

Wouldn't every passenger and crew member from the ship be a tourist, I am sure any local could tell whether they are wearing a lanyard or not. . And you can always just not wear it when away from the dock or the ship.

Even though I often use a bag on board to hold my camera I still keep my card in a lanyard. When I go in to the cabin I hang the lanyard off of the door so I always know where it is.

Ā

The pockets on women's clothing is useless. Either too shallow to safely carry anything or just for decoration.

I use the ones with plastic pockets.

Ā

When on shore I attach the lanyard to my bag, again so I don't loose it.

Ā

I don't wear it often, but if I go swimming in the pools I wear it then.

We never use lanyards ... just use a pocket or my cruise purse for our cruise card/medallion.Ā Ā

I never use them either. It reminds me of work and I don't want to think about work on vacation. :classic_ninja:

Ha! Good one. One day I will spend more time on board than at work and then that should work for me:classic_happy:

I spend much more time at work than on a cruise ship.

However, when I am at work, I am always thinking about being aboard a cruise ship, as opposed to never thinking about work when I am aboard the ship.
