I hope this is in the right area! Im picking up my cruise voucher today. Im trying to do an Alaskan cruise....but i willbe cruising solo. My question is will they charge me double occupancy on the "free" voucher even though its just me? My parents are going & in a rush already booked their cabin without realizing we could combine our vouchers. Oh well....just wondering what to expect as a "solo"!

Just wondering if you don’t mind where are you picking up your free voucher from?

How many Tier Credits are you earning for your certificate if you don't mind me asking? My wife and I are doing an overnight to Valley River at the beginning of July. Thanks!

I believe you're asking how many tier credits did I have to earn to receive a cruise certificate....I am a Diamond status....my tier score is 29,000....BUT you DON'T have to have a high tier score. My best friend is a Gold & she received a certificate also. I received my first certificate at a platinum level. So Im sure you will have the opportunity to earn one. Have fun! I love that drive through the Nanthala Gorge!

how do you earn free cruise certificates through Harrahs Cherokee?   I am platinum and my friend is gold, we only go about 2 time a year, but would love to get a cruise certificate if we can.

Any advice on how to get that?

I really don't know the basis on how they give the cruise away...my friend is a gold and she only goes 4 times a year...at the most & she received a cruise certificate. Maybe visit the rewards center next time you go & inquire with them on how people qualify to receive them.

Thanks for the advice.  I think i will do that.   I always get offers for trips to Laughlin and Atlantic City, but never cruises.  I would love a cruise offer!

I hope you get one!! With the "free" cruise you actually have to pay port fess & taxes...plus a admin fee, but your accommodations are free. It actually ends up being a good value.

You won't have to pay the full fare for the second person as your voucher is a free cabin for two people (or one person with the voucher covering the single supplement). Port charges are always based on per person so you wouldn't have to pay twice for those. Taxes and admin fee though they might charge you twice for but I would hope not. Best to just ask the cruise line though.

They charged me just for myself, and also the port fees & taxes for myself. I ended up going with a inside cabin....7 day to Alaska only $410....so I am thrilled! Was considering a bid to upgrade, but they will charge me double occupancy for that!

They used to only charge you single for upgrading, and it was $140 to upgrade from inside to balcony thru CAS.  Now, it's $500 and they charge you double, so $1000 total to upgrade.  No thank you.  However, you can try your luck at bidding on an upgrade.  It will still charge you double, but you control the most you will pay.  On my last cruise, I put in a $50 bid (so $100 total) to go from inside to balcony.  I really didn't expect to get it for that price, but I figured it didn't hurt to try.

Your insurance changes for an upgrade too doesnt it ? I was thinking about bidding, but my parents have a balcony on the same deck...i can go sit on theirs whenever i want!

Super excited! That would be awesome to hang out with y'all....he told me you're trying Royal Caribbean. I got a post card to try them in November...but im going to have to calm down for this year. Im flying up to Atlantic City in Sept. My parents love that trip...1 & 1/2 plane trip versus 3 hr drive to Cherokee. Your husband said he wants to check out AC....this will be my 1st trip.

Have a safe trip and enjoy Alaska!!! I am doing RCCL without him this year, but we are going together in 2020. Let us know if you want the information on sailing them. I can connect you with our agent to help with cabin based on your NCL and land play. RCL does not have the same fees as NCL, but there are some differences.

I’m curious about this. I’ve been cruising on NCL through CAS for about 15 years, but lately I’ve been wanting to try RCI, but I don’t want to pay full price. Spoiled, I guess. Am I reading this right? Your travel agent is able to book a cruise on RCI using a person’s play on NCL? If true, then I suppose other TAs can do the same.

My agent is a travel agent and Junket agent. I am not sure what I am allowed to share here.
