Stockholm: board SL bus through rear door?

Recommended Posts

Is it allowed? I'll need to go from Gamla Stan to the Frihamnen cruise terminal, and bus 76 seems to be the best way. I'll have rolling luggage and I think it would be easier to board through the rear door, if that's permitted. I'll be paying the fare with either the access card or the phone app.

That is a good question. I am not sure but I think it depends on how many passengers there are on the bus.
Normally you could board through the rear/middle doors (like you do if you have a stroller or etc)
and then goto the front of the bus to activate/scan your ticket but if there are lots of passengers that might be hard.

You could always try to contact them through this online form to ask:

https://sl.se/sv/kundservice/kundservice-online/formular

The English section only lists a phone number: https://sl.se/en/help--contact/

Thank you. I've used the contact form (difficult because it required every field to be filled, even if irrelevant).

I think that if using the rear/middle door is OK with a stroller it would be OK with luggage, but there is still the question of getting to the front to pay the fare.

It took almost a week, but here is the reply that I received:

Thank you for contacting us.

You may, with wheelchair, large luggage and for other reasons enter trough the middle door. Though we put the responsibility of decision to the driver in this case, he or her may want you to enter in the front. However you will need to go to the front and validate your ticket if the reason is luggage.

Kind regards,
Joakim
