Picture-A-Week 2019 - Week 23

 Share

Recommended Posts

Pictures taken between Monday, June 3 and Sunday, June 9.

Rules: See above

That's it. This isn't a contest.

All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising).

Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize.

The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays.

Post one. Post many. Up to you.

Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others!

Well, what a busy Sunday. Started off on the shore near my home, and ended up somewhere inland.

(Fortunately managed to miss all of my football team's abominable performance)..

A few years ago, my son talked me into trying Borderlands 2. "You'll like it Dad! It's smart and funny!" Well, he was right. The artwork makes it look like you're playing in a graphic novel and the dialogue is clever and often hilarious. It also has a lot (really, a lot) of guns and a target-rich environment. Stress relief on steroids. In preparation for the release of Borderlands 3, they released an update pack with new adventures foreshadowing version 3. Less than an hour after the Sunday release, it was installed and I was linked with my son’s console doing run and gun across Pandora making the bad guys very, very sorry that they are the bad guys. Hold my beer while I blow this up...

Family Fun Time!

Finally got around to sorting through my vacation photos from the weekend of June 7th, just the family summer trip to Disney World.  Some random shots from Friday through Sunday of that week:

The resort where I stayed - Wilderness Lodge...specifically I was in the Boulder Ridge DVC villas section:

Nighttime scenes around the resort - this is a glimpse of the boat dock out on the lake behind the cypress trees:

the largest vulture species - the Nubian vulture, here having a rest on the ground and trying to figure out where to put those 10-foot wingspan wings:

They're not 'wild' - but they are free-flying and not in a penned area - Disney's Animal Kingdom has a few demonstration shows with macaws of different types, and when not in the 'show', they fly around the park, yelling, playing, and goofing off in the trees:

A cute baby giraffe, watching the safari truck pass by:

Male lion sitting on top of his rock outcrop:

I was going through the pictures I took the day our cruise ship was in Glacier Bay National Park and discovered I had been photo bombed by a seagull.

I took a shot from our ship as we were getting ready to leave the Port of Miami, and without realizing it, a seagull into the frame.  It actually made the picture much better.  Sometimes it is good to be lucky 🙂
