Coachyo Posted June 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2019 So just won Haven 4 🤩 2 bedroom bid and looking for advice. On Gem to Bermuda with wife and 23 daughter we are celebrating our 30th Anniversary . What are the perks and what should we and can we ask for or do as a Haven guest. I don’t want to miss out on anything, but do not want to be obnoxious about asking for things. What advice, tips, comments or must do’s do you all have? Notnewtoit Posted June 2, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2019 (edited) ... there's no looking back now (or going back for that matter)... you lucky people 🙂 There are a bunch of things you can do/have done for you, having a good attitude toward your butler (who is not a slave) is a great starting point. Beyond that I would say: Enjoy the experience, enjoy the peace, enjoy the 'haven', chill, relax... Use the Haven sundeck, it's literally a gem Enjoy those breakfasts in Moderno Make use of the concierge, particularly getting you on and off the ship via the secret-squirrel elevator. Enjoy wandering into the Haven only area of the theater Shower with the blind up Did I mention... Enjoy the experience, enjoy the peace, enjoy the 'haven', chill, relax... ...oh and don't get drawn into the ridiculous tipping BS that some claim is necessary. Tip if/when you are impressed. Rare amygutman Posted June 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2019 Mazel tov! Be prepared to be pampered. The Gem has a wonderful Haven area - there is no private restaurant / bar like the mega-ships, but a wonderful Moderno's breakfast buffet with amazing view. Check out some of the Haven forums on this site for advice, tips and perks - there are so many. The H4 is our favorite class of room - it is amazingly well laid out and the jetted tub / shower is luxurious. Cool suite perks that we particularly love: 1. Free movies 2. Room service 4. True free-style...anything (within reason) can be arranged for you or changed - just ask your butler / concierge Don't be afraid to ask your concierge or your fellow cruisers - be prepared to be spoiled and just enjoy every minute! Rare BirdTravels Posted June 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) Your butler will bring you a snack every afternoon. If you have a special additional request, don't be shy to ask. Us "big kids" like to ask for a PB&J with chips on some afternoons. The suites has a cold buffet in addition to hot items. Enjoy! We ask that bowls for M&Ms (plain or peanut), Gummy Bears, and Bar Mix be kept full (and we empty them into zip locks for snacking). We ask our room steward to empty our mini-fridge and have the butler leave pitchers of water and tea. There will be standard "check box" breakfast cards in the room. Ignore the check boxes and write whatever you want on the card. Eggs over easy, egg white omelet with tomato and spinach, filet steak, bacon, ham, sausages, breakfast potatoes, hash browns, breads, jams, fresh fruit, juices, and a Diet Pepsi. We do this on early port days. Your butler will serve breakfast on a white tablecloth when you want. You can order anything off the Suites or MDR menus. Don't forget that your butler and concierge are not part of the daily service charge and expect to be tipped separately.
