We will be staying at a hotel the night before our cruise at LGA.  Daughter's family is also driving to the same hotel so we will all drive to the terminal Sunday morning.  Someone posted about the Puerto Rican Day Parade and to be aware of road closures and traveling time.  Can anyone help with route suggestions for us and what time we should leave for the terminal.???

Or will the parade not affect us?  We will be cruising on the Escape.  Thank you very much!

Hola !  Si, the annual PR Parade is scheduled next Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm along Fifth Avenue, just avoid passing thru and using local city/streets in the midtown & Upper East Side area.  Nothing in/near/around the MCT area to worry about.

Leaving from your hotel near LGA, get onto the Grand Central Pkwy toward the RJK Bridge, follow signage for Manhattan ... not toward the Bronx (unless real-time GPS navigation steer your otherwise) and go across town on E. 125th or 126 th Street for the West Side / Hudson River to pickup Rt. 9W south (old West Side Hwy) - direct to MCT/Pier 88, keep right at the end/bottom of the ramp near W. 57th Street ... plenty of signage to direct you to pier dropoff & parking.

Do not take the Queens Midtown Tunnel (tolled) or the Ed Koch/59th Street Bridge crossing into Manhattan to go across Manhattan due to street closures & detour, starting in the morning.

Toll is $6.12 with EZ-Pass tags or $9.50 cash-less toll by mail for the RFK Bridge, well worth the time saved ... should be an easy 30 to 40 minutes drive on a Sunday morning, leave by 9:15 and should be at the pier's rooftop parking before 10 am.
