What have they done to your Cuba cruise?

Based on terminology, I’m making the assumption that your family is same industry as mine... that said, have you ever cruised using an Interline rate? Curious as to how those fares compare with firesale prices available to general public direct from cruise line.

It depends on the sailings. I had a Cuban sailing on Oct 9 on Majesty. $2144.00 for a jr suite. Was able to keep the cruise with different itinerary with the 50% off. Decided to cancel and change the date to July 17 with a TA. Was 180.00 cheaper plus 50.00 OBC. July 31 is also the same price. I use their site to check out the interline rates. With Royal you have to call to ask for prices. Email me if you want. professional flight training 161 at aol. Use the first letter of the 3 words with the numbers and no spaces.

This post concerns me.   Did you book with points of some kind?   I booked through Club Royale but I only got a slightly discounted rate.  I was told I would receive 50% of what I paid and I am fine with that.  The truth is I didn't get a good deal to begin with.  The price dropped 2 days after I booked and I could have paid $250 less directly with RCCL but since it was after final payment I was stuck with the higher casino rate.  Now I am worried about how much OBC I will get if I take this cruise.

Just got back this past Saturday.. and STILL NO word from RCCL regarding the correct OBC amount. Since mid last week, they simply stopped replying to my emails and have been ignoring me.

While on the ship, the casino called me some 9654654 times to get me to go there and spend some $400.00 in free play, which I politely declined as this was not what RCCL had offered me BEFORE the cruise.

So, those of you getting in writing that you will be credit X dollars in OBC - keep in mind that RCCL will determine later on the actual amount you will get, based on some random formula. I was told (verbally and via email) that my OBC would be 826.00.. 1st day on the ship I saw a credit of $395.00, and after 2-3 days they credited me a difference of $430.00 as casino credit (use it or lose it), while telling me via twitter that I would get those $430.00 as OBC (which never happened).

Sorry you had to experience this on your cruise.  Do you mind if I ask if your cruise was a comped cruise?     I certainly don't want my OBC in 'use it or lose it' casino credit as I paid for my cruise with my credit card.    I also don't want them calling me a million times either.

Well, I used some "points" from playing their online casino (I refer to them as MyVegas).. I guess it is considered "comped" in this case.

If you paid in full with your CC I dont think you will have any issues... well, maybe or maybe not. Because I learned now that if RCCL tells you one thing in writing, it does not mean they will actually follow through.

Thanks.  I haven't been able to get anything in writing that confirms my OBC.  There is also the question of port charges that should be cheaper now too.  I just wish they would give me my refund on my CC up front as I don't like having to hope for the best when I board the ship.  The last thing I want to do on my cruise is stand in line at guest services to discuss a problem.

I just got an email from Club Royale today, reconfirming $991 onboard credit for me.  I hope it works out, it is great to have it in writing.

Mine was in writing too... made no difference.

Finally today I spent 3 hours (yes - 3 hours in a single phone call to RCCL) and after a lot of fighting they agreed to give a *future* $500.00 discount. I spoke with 3 people today, and one of them even insinuated that I misunderstood the offer, and later that I was "trying to convince them to refund me for something that was not wed to me.."

Bottom line - be prepared... there is a pretty good chance the credit wont show up as OBC and if that is the case, it will be a lot of trouble to get them to honour the offer.

I think this only applies to those who used the MyVegas points.

I have typed up the long list of answers I have received from Royal Caribbean about what sort of OBC I am to receive on my June 24 cruise on Majesty. Does anyone have an email address for Royal other than the casino department? I am preparing myself for a huge fight at guest services next Monday. =(

You can try these, but know that Royal is very slow to respond to email, so you might not get resolution via email before Monday.

Crownandanchor comes back as undeliverable, but the other one worked. Thanks.

I got an immediate response. I don't know if it's a canned response, but it does say I should have a response in 3 business days, otherwise it gave me a number to call. I can be patient. I'm just tired of of the umpteen different answers I am getting.

Two days after we booked a cruise to Cuba on the Majesty the president made the announcement that we can no longer go to Cuba.  RCCL changed our itinerary from Cuba to Nassau and refunded some of our money.  I'm fine with this change because we just enjoy cruising.  Disappointed we won't get to experience Cuba but decided to keep our cruise.  After looking at the availability on the ship it seems there is a lot so I'm guessing a lot of people decided to cancel.  We are booked in an inside cabin and wondering what the changes of us getting upgraded to an ocean view since there appears to be a lot of availability.  We leave August 24th so its only a little over 2 months away.

My understanding is that upgrades are only done via the RoyalUp program. I’m sailing on Majesty in 2 weeks. We have an OV cabin but now my bestie and I have our fingers crossed that our fairly aggressive bid on a suite has a greater chance of being successful if pax are dropping like flies. Pretty sure tomorrow is the last day for cancellation with full refund.

Personally taking advantage of the chaos created by the change.  Got a incredible deal for the Aug 24th sailing on the Majesty.  Making it a sibling trip with my brother and sister - for a late celebration for her 60th.  3 OV rooms, with no penalty / markup for single occupancy - making sure there isn't too much sibling time.  Looking forward to it as it will be the first cruise for both!

At these prices - it might pay to find another weekend getaway before summer is over 😉

They won't have much problem filling the ship. The Majesty's prices are at rock bottom right now. For your sailing it's at $208 right now and will probably go lower. Club Royale will probably offer comped cruises as well to fill the ship.

For the Club Royal (myVEGAS) comped cabins we are on Majesty right now and despite being reassured that we would be receiving 50% of the comped cruise rate in OBC by Club Royal prior to boarding we have zero on board credit. I have an email out to club royal to hopefully get this straightedges out before our cruise is over.
