What have they done to your Cuba cruise?

First - the multiple amounts.

Refunds come in either two or three pieces.

Either cruise fare + port taxes/fees.

Or commissionable cruise fare, noncommissionable cruise fare + port taxes/fees.  (you didn't pay it that way, so it doesn't look familiar to you)

I can't help with "why doesn't the total add up to what I paid?"

Renee, RC doesn't offer those things.  They have to be coming from a TA.

Thanks for the info. I didn't use a TA. I need to contact RC and see what is going on.

I had major issues getting my OBC while on board Majesty. Cristobal and Collins were NO help at guest services. I wrote an email to the director of guest relations on Tuesday after leaving her a voice mail on Monday. Someone from Royal called me while I was in Nassau, but they didn’t leave a message. So, I called that number back and made it very clear that guest services was no help and I was calling them while on board in Nassau. They again confirmed I was due $856 OBC. I was also told they had sent several urgent messages to the ship.

Later on Tuesday, after being told by Collins how I was getting nothing, I went to talk to Kristina the casino host. She said I have good news — $368 in OBC and $488 in casino free play. I said I’ll take it. I was able to turn the casino free play into a bit more. So, I walked off the ship with more than $856 in cash.

I am glad it worked out for you but sorry about the hassle.  Were you booked on a MyVegas reward or a Club Royale offer?

And Heather, if we end up in the same situation....

If we get the casino freeplay as part of the "deal," can we literally cash that in (minus that 5% fee that I think you mentioned in another post.)  No doubt we WILL want to gamble some but maybe not the full $488.  Tho hopefully we'll do like you, turn it into more!

Mine was a myvegas. The second time I went to speak to the casino host, someone was there talking to her and the casino manager since he was a comped cruise. I wonder how things worked out for him.

You cannot cash out the casino free play. You can only cash out your winnings. I only played slots. I wish I felt more confident with other games to play them.  The casino host first told me I had to play $100 at a time, which wasn't true. I didn't figure that out until I had lost about half of the $100 on a buffalo slots machine.  I did well on the machine on the right next to the cash voucher machine. I was either breaking even or a bit more.  I was constanly cashing out my winnings no matter how small. I wanted every bit of that $488 back as possible.  I wound up doing the best on the right most platinum quick hits machine at max bet of $1.50. I won just under $200 on some of the free spins.  So, you are going to have to play your casino free play to see any rewards from it.

I told the casino cashier that I wanted to play all the $368 on the slots. He paid out the balance in vouchers minus the 5% fee. I played them a tiny bit and then cashed in.

Hi all

I have a question regarding the great price some of us got for some Empress and Majesty sailings June - September (after the Cuba cancellations ) that included the great price plus no single supplement. Will I receive the double C&A points for sailing SOLO? or because of the no single supplement they wont award the double points?.

Sorry if this doesn't belong to this tread and feel free to move it to the correct one.

Thank you in advance.

Yes.

And if you booked and paid for a JS, you will get three points  per night.

I don't know when you are cruising - my Majesty cruises are in four weeks.  I'll let you know how it works out for me.  🙂

MOUTH DROP! No one asked Royal to do anything. They were the ones who offered compensation. To point fingers and lie and screw customers over is BS.  We PAID with 2 million myvegas points. There has to be some money exchanging hands some how some way.

Look at your invoice: both Club Royale & Myvegas paid something, plus the value of our points.

  • 2 months later...

In regard to the cruisers who booked a Cuba itinerary with MyVegas points or a Casino Royale offer -- I'm in a similar situation -  I had booked the cruise with Royal Caribbean Visa points. I was told I would receive compensation in the form of OBC once onboard but never received it. We spoke to Guest Services on the ship (a late August sailing), who were nice but unable to help us. Since returning home, I've been on the phone 2.5 hours trying to get a partial refund of the monetary equivalent of my Visa points. I used over $1000 worth of Visa points and am being told I am getting $53 in compensation. Ugh. Did anyone else book a Cuba itinerary with Royal Caribbean Visa points? I've already escalated to a supervisor who is unwilling to help me.
