Capri73 Posted June 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2019 Does anyone know if we can have guests on board for lunch? Thank you in advance.
15Day+ Posted June 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2019 We were on Ovation in March/April and did this for friends who were sailing on the Amsterdam when both ships were docked in Mumbai. The process needs to be completed several days in advance but was fairly straight forward including filling in a "Passenger Visitor Request Form", available from staff in Seabourn Square, and providing a photo copy of a valid piece of government issued photo id for each visitor. I understand that having visitors come on board is at the discretion of the Captain.
tv24 Posted June 7, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2019 Yes you can. Our Sydney friends have done this. Plan in advance and go to Seabourn Sq. to get it taken care of.
freddie Posted June 7, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2019 Capri73 - One aspect of your question that is worth considering is that often The Restaurant (main dining room) is not open for lunch when the ship is in port. Thus, you are limited to having lunch with your guests in The Colonnade (self-service, aka cafeteria). That is why, while we have enjoyed lunching with friends in some ports on Regent and Crystal, we have not done so on Seabourn. Inviting friends aboard for a lunch in a self-service venue is simply not the same experience as hosting them in an elegant dining room.

A couple we know bought some friends on at Sydney for dinner with drinks and he was surprised there is no charge by Seabourn where when they have bought friends on with Crystal there was a charge

Able Seaman H Posted June 12, 2019 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2019 We did this in the Caribbean when some friends were unexpectedly in the same port on another (far inferior 🙂 ) ship. The square and the bridge were fantastic in sorting things out, our friends emailed over passport details and we greeted them at the gang plank. I will say it is totally at the discretion of the bridge and the security team so please don't get upset if you find it impossible to arrange. Different ports pose different security risks and have different regulations. For us it was more than whether lobster was available in the restaurant or not. We enjoyed meeting up in a relaxed environment and showing them round a Seabourn ship. They were equally curious. As it happens when we were enjoying lunch in the Colonnade a small gathering of staff suddenly appeared and champagne was served unexpectedly. One of those little Seabourn moments. It did feel like we were hosting them on our private yacht ! We spent a pleasant time together before wandering round the port on foot.
