La Romana tour options - closer to port

We are looking for excursion options in La Romana without having to take an hour+ bus ride.  Any suggestions?  We are 2 middle aged adults who prefer NOT to just sit on a beach all day. 

 

Anything within a 30 min range from the pier? 

 

Any snorkel sails that would leave from close to the ship?

Last time we went to La Romana on the Horizon we did the Saona Special tour with Seavis tours and it was a 20 minute ride from the port. It was an awesome day, we enjoyed a lot!

We also went with Seavistours to sanona island and had a great time. Best excursion ever. Everything well organized, very professional company

I haven't done it yet, but I'm looking at the dune buggies thru Carnival.  I"m a beach person, so this is completely different than anything else I've ever done.  But it does look closer to port.  And it does look like there are independent tour operators who offer something like this.  Most of the recent Carnival reviews are very good, so I'm excited to give it a try.
