Pictures taken between Monday, June 10 and Sunday, June 16.

Rules: See above

That's it. This isn't a contest.

All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising).

Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize.

The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays.

Post one. Post many. Up to you.

Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others!

Well, Monday was the Quenn's Birthday public holiday. Although, when you are retired, every day seems to be a public holiday.

Got up and checked the Honours list. No knighthood --- again. Come the revolution.

Oh well, in honour of old Lizzie here is another Royal Spoonbill having a good look at the photographer

Also looking rathe regal is the Eastern Great Egret

And any day is a good day for a pelican

On Saturday I wandered out to the wetlands to have a few snaps of the birdlife.

Found this rather odd creature flying about

The Royal Spoonbill found it hilarious that anything would try and fly without feathers

On Sunday the camera club had an outing to Emerald Lake in the Dandenongs. Main aim of photographing fungi (yes, it is winter here).

I dont have a macro lens, but here are some things i have no intention of trying to eat.

Father's Day gifts aren't a big deal in our family since I an notoriously hard to buy for. I have a large assortment of tools with a want list starting at around the $500 mark and let’s just avoid talking about the camera equipment want list. When the kids were little, they found that I liked chocolate cherry cordials and Father’s Day usually included a box since small children have limited shopping options. For many years now, the Amazon gift card has been the unit of gifting and the cherry cordials were left behind. The reasons behind the gift of a small box of See’s Cordials from my oldest daughter melted my heart and brought back a flood of good memories. We have great kids.

Monday June 10th was my last day of vacation up at Disney, and I spent that day at Epcot Center.

The day started out raining:

I honestly didn't mind as it kept the crowds down a bit.  Then as the day went on, the rains cleared out late in the afternoon and the sun started to poke through the haze - near sunset it produced some interesting skies and colors:

Face the other direction, and despite being about 7:30pm, the light was warm and the skies blue where the storms had come from:

I had dinner at one of the very few places in Orlando, leet alone Disney, that knows how to make a 'proper' italian pizza - at Via Napoli, they have wood-burning pizza ovens named after three of Italy's most active and famous volcanoes:

Despite the rainy start, the evening after dusk became quite lovely:

I enjoyed the late night walk around the World Showcase, doing some handheld night shots of the pavilions while others waited for the big fireworks/laser show, leaving the pavilions fairly unpopulated:

I have the images showing in the thread, iPad using Safari.

However, if I click an image to enlarge, I get this instead.
