Yes. It is subjective to some degree but on M class ships the A1 cabins appear to be in the more desirable locations. However on S class ships you might find differing opinions as to which are the best.

On M class ships A1s are on deck 11, A2 on Deck 9.. A2 have buffet or pool area above.  Deck 12 has movie screen above some of the A1s.

On S Class  Aqua cabins are all on Deck 11.  Deck 12 from midship forward has pool, Solarium, spa and fitness center, so some cabins below report noise others quiet.

if you find a few that you think would be good check the S & M class Stickies to see if there have been reviews of the cabins.

All numbering differences among a single class reflect location preferences.  The lower the number (for example, A1 rather than A2) the better location - although that can sometimes be subjective.  For Aqua Class, IMHO the theory holds true - like the A1 locations much better than the A2 locations.

On the S class ships (except Reflection), we always choose an A2 cabin below other cabins, rather than an A1 cabin, which are under public areas on the deck above.  We could upgrade for free to an A1, but have never done so, except on Reflection, which has an extra deck of cabins above most of the A1 cabins.
