Uber disembarkiing in Boston cruise port

We'll be disembarking in Boston and considering how we'll get from the port to where we pick up the rental car on Atlantic Ave.

We're thinking about Uber but have never used them and wondering how easy it will be to find the right Uber at the port.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Uber's are plentiful and easy to get. I think the easiest way out of the port area in Boston. Lyft works well too.

How does it work - do you wait until you are disembarked and then use the app to get them?
