Cabin above dining room??

I have tried  searching this forum but to no avail.    I am looking at a cabin above the dining room on the Rotterdam on deck 6.   Have only stayed in cabins on decks with cabins above and below.  We tend to turn in early by 10:00 pm and up early by 5:00.   Will noise be an issue?    Thank you to all in advance for your advice and information.

We stayed in a cabin above the dining room on the Zaandam last summer.  It was quiet except for one night.

We were in the cabin trying to go to sleep but we could hear music.  Loud music.  We thought it was coming from one of the cabins next door, as if they had their tv on full blast.  My husband went out into the hall to knock on one of the doors, but realized that it wasn't coming from either cabin.  Other people had their heads poked  out their doors wondering where the music was coming from.  Our son realized it was coming up through the floor.

Turns out, the crew (officers) were having a big party/celebration in the MDR .  One of the female singers was singing at the top of her lungs!

There were lots of complaints from the cabins in our area.

That said, every other night was no issue - it was a quiet location.

I've often stayed in Aft cabins above the MDR.  Never a problem at all.  I've even stayed above/below the casino and have never had any noise problems.  As one poster said above, if you're above a music venue, that could be problematic.

I've only had problems with noise when in decks below The Lido area.  The scraping/moving of deck chairs drove me crazy while I was trying to take a nap.  Also once on the Veendam we had an aft cabin above the Main Dining Room and could hear music at times, it wasn't a big deal and never at times that I would be resting/sleeping/napping.

We just got off the Rotterdam and stayed in cabin 6127 which is above the Ocean Bar. We had to listen to the band until 11:30 every night. We were not happy campers. I understand when we book a guarantee that HA picks the cabin but it shouldn’t mean we get a subpar room. We have lodged our complaint with HA.
