When was your booking date?   Can you tell me the name of the person who approved it?  I'm testing a theory.   I have a B2B in Oct and got it on one sailing and not on the other, processed by different people.

Booked on June 28, 2019. Approved by Denise July 2, 2019. Sailing in December 2019. I hope this helps you test your theory.

has anyone gotten the benefit having  booked before June 1?

dont want to bother trying if that is the case...my last/only cruise with Celeb was booked before June 1.

See my post #9

Thanks "rakes", I needed that reminder...

so it is the luck of the draw or maybe depends who you get looking after your request...

so I will make the attempt and will report back here ....cruise not till end of October and loaded on with all kinds of goodies...so very much doubt there will be anything else for a shareholder....

Well, I got my $50 OBC!  Of course, it was denied the first time because silly me had transposed a couple numbers in my confirmation!  When I emailed back with the correct confirmation number, it was applied.

I'm still rather surprised that they'll apply this 600 days prior to sailing!  They have no idea whether I'll still own the shares at the time I sail, like I'm supposed to!

But, hey, I'm not complaining!  I'm going to have So Much OBC to spend in the casino!!  And spa! 😁

I booked a celebrity cruise on May 24 this year during a 2 perks promotion through a TA and shareholder credit was denied.  Canceled and rebook the same cruise because of a better offer, 4 perks about the same price.  Paid the cancellation fees.   New reservation code.  Applied shareholder credit again and got accepted.   So ended up gaining 150 and 2 extra perks.  Hope this good news continues.

Usually hear back from them within a day.  Sometimes within the same day.  Rarely it goes more than 2 days

Just cruised the Equinox and had $450.00 total OBC from several sources. Used it for bingo twice, slot tournament, the slots and a few store purchased. Used it up. I have never had any problems using the OBC no matter how it was applied.

Good to hear.  It's only a 4-night cruise so I'll have to get busy as soon as the casino opens!   I'll probably turn Nassau into a spa day, too, so that will eat up some of it.  I also read that you can go to the service desk and have extra gratuities added and can use up some of it that way (my booking has drinks and grats already included).  Once things are actually available online, I'll upgrade the drink package, too.

How much stock do you need to own to receive this OBC benefit? TIA. Ooops, just found the answer on RCLs website - 100 shares minimum

My recommendation. Do not waste your money. Unlike owning Carnival stock at half the cost. Royal gives you just about nothing when you go to apply it. Example. A 7 day cruise. Let's say you have $100.00 obc already. They give you zero Because you already have the maximum. If you have $50.00 already they will add $50.00 Carnival will give you $100.00 just about any time but not under certain circumstances. That has never happened to us. Same with any cruise line they own. In addition, if you cruise the Princess and happen to be a veteran. You get the same added to the OBC. Right after I purchased the Royal stock and went to use it, I was shocked to find this out. I immediately sold it. I was lucky, it went up a lot in one month. So I did well after all. Needless to say, your choice. I did not purchase to make money on the stock, just for the benefits. We cruise a lot and is well worth it, even if the stock goes down. So far you get $50.00 every quarter with Carnival. Bu the way. The Carnival stock right now is super low.

I just heard back on our 12-night July 2020 sailing on the Reflection (booked on June 30) - $100 OBC approved.  We also have 2 perks promotion for our cabin.   BTW - sometimes it pays to NOT get the perks . . . we have a second cabin that we booked using a group rate from our TA that saved us over $2500 off of the current "2-perks" rate.

Has anyone had success with shareholder perk on a cruise booked through Club Royale since the June 1 change?

thought shareholder obc not applicable to free cruises?

ie: from the casino

(it says so on the obc form)

This is the most detailed response I have received which I think represents the proper application of the new shareholder benefit rules. The first 3 were denied because they were booked before June 1. The last one was approved even though it was a suite with 4PERKS as it was booked after June 1.

Thank you for your email.

As offers are not combinable, the requested shareholder’s onboard credit cannot be applied to your reservations as follows:

xxxxxxx- price code GOBETTERGRT not combinable.
xxxxxxx- price code GOBETTERGRT not combinable.
xxxxxxx- price code 4 PERKS not combinable

Booking # xxxxxx was booked after 6/1/19 therefore in the new guidelines system is entitled to the $100 shareholder benefit.

The company has listened to the shareholders over the years which has resulted in them revamping the shareholder benefit program. So the good news is
Royal Caribbean has updated the shareholder program and it is restructured as of 6/1/19 going forward all new bookings with the revised program will have less restrictions and more combinable qualifying applications. (unfortunately the new program is not retro on existing sailings booked prior to 6/1)

Please visit our investor website (www.rclinvestor.com) for latest details, terms, and restrictions.
Once again, thank you for contacting us, we hope you have an enjoyable cruise.

This thread makes me sad, as most cruises were likely cancelled.
I bought stock in March when it started to go down but before it tanked. It’s almost where I bought it and may sell just because of the “will they or won’t they”.
I sent for 3 cruises in the spring— 1 Celebrity for August ( denied), 1 Royal for July 2021 (approved), and 1 Celebrity for August 2021 ( not addressed at all ). I resubmitted the celebrity one today and I’m maybe hopeful🤞

For the one that was denied, you have to have booked on 1 June 2019 or after to be eligible.  You have to look at the guidelines regarding a couple other caveats to see if they applied to that booking.

I submitted my requests electronically, and received responses within a few days.   🍷

It think it was after because I cancelled my HAL cruise when they changed the itinerary last July and booked this instead. Doesn’t so much matter because I didn’t go! But I’m hopeful for the celebrity next summer.

Might be a good time to get back in to RCL stock.  Market seems to be positive on the news and hope CDC will lift the US band.  Thanks for the link OP to review the shareholder benefit.

I'm in.... Not sure if I will be a trader or an investor, but the ride up this past two weeks has been good so far.

Cheers!
