Venice Hotel near People Mover and Bus Drop Off

We are looking for a nice clean hotel near the Port Area. We are planning on spending a few days exploring Venice again but this trip would like to be on the side near the port. Last time we stayed near the train station which worked well because we were taking the train to Rome. This time cruising out of Venice.

We are cruising out of Venice in October and after considering a few options we decided to book at Marriott's AC Venizia. Having not stayed yet i cant comment on the facilities other than I know it is fairly new. What attracted me to this hotel is that it is adjacent to Piazzale Roma and the people mover to the port. It may be worth checking it out for your trip.

We are on the Regent Seven Seas Explorer departing Venice on October 19th. How about you?

Three hotels that are mentioned regularly that are near the People Mover and Piazzale Roma (the bus area)  are Hotel Olimpia, Hotel Arlecchino and Hotel Santa Chiara.

We stayed in the Hotel Olimpia and loved it!. We'd stay there again in a heart beat.

Another vote for the Hotel Olimpia. Have stayed there a few times, a very nice hotel close to the Port area and easy to get to from the airport by bus.

Hotel selection was very nice in may. We are going back next year

Our favorite small hotel (more like an Inn) that is actually the closest hotel to the People Mover is called Ca Doge.  We prefer it to the larger hotels around the Piazale Roma because we find it more charming.  This small hotel does not have an elevator which can be an issue for some folks.
