So, I've booked a Sip N sail and we're Elite - what to do with the Mini Bar setup?

I usually give mine to a crew member that has made out trip special in some way. They are always very appreciative!

  1. Since canned sodas are not included in the PBP trade in each item for the flavors you like.
  2. Take the little bottles with you to the bars so you can pour yourself a double without being dinged for two of your maximum fifteen daily adult beverages
  3. Just keep it--you never know if late one night you will want one more drink after changing into your 'jammies (or less)
  4. If all else fails those little bottles fit just right in the lining of your suitcases.

For those that enjoy a drink in the cabin use it there. The PBP can not be used for room service. Trade entire mini bar for a bottle of wine for cabin or DR use. Trade for canned sodas. Take the little bottles home, most are plastic, pack well, and are well within the one liter U.S. import limit. Give items away to friends you made on the cruise. Just leave unused items in the cabin.

You can call room service and ask that the setup be removed.

We share what we won't use with people we meet--tablemates, trivia team mates, etc.

Posted this on another thread in error, so sorry for repeat.

On our SA cruise on the Royal we traded the mini bar for a bottle of wine that we took to the dining room.  We figured why not, the corkage cost would still be less than the cost with 25% off a bottle from the PBP, however they didn’t charge us corkage.  Didn’t ask why, didn’t need to know.  Lol. YMMV.

And this was 2 legs, so 2 bottles on different nights, same waiters.

They did not charge corkage because this bottle was provided by Princess. They only charge corkage for bottles you bring onboard yourself.

We have a large number of bottles that we've brought home with us.

Also we had a recent 14-day cruise (sold as two 7-days so we got two minibars) followed by 6 nights in Athens. We had drinks every night in Athens from our minibar.

coffee card swap and buy coffee for new friends

The "coffee card" is now not a card but a designation on your seapass - exactly the same as you already have from the drink package! 😞

We are in the same position and have wondered the same thing.

We are in the same position and have wondered the same thing. Economically since we will not really use setup is to use benefit for coffee cards. On a 14 day or longer cruise we will pretty much use up the 15 coffees each.

Economically coffee card benefit makes the most sense for us and is good on 14 day or longer cruise.

For an upcoming 7 day one we will not use up much at all. So figure we will buy coffee for everyone we meet on the cruise.

As our daughter would say First World Problem😁

Why would you do that with a free perk though?  Considering all the various options to use it up - including simply giving the items away to others you e met aboard.

Well, I wouldn't do that.  But, like all the other  posts here, it's only a suggestion, as is leaving it behind.  Just because something is free, doesn't mean one is required to accept or use it.

On our last cruise, I had some soda, and large water bottles left over.  I asked the cabin attendant if he could have it, he said “yes” so I left it for him.

If you have a balcony cabin you can share some of that mini-bar with your neighbors, striking up a new friendship.

Then again, we've never had any problem bringing those little alcohol bottles back for home use.
