Well it’s now 2.30 a.m., just finished work. Emails done, bills paid. OH  doing his usual  distraught pensioner with too many bags to pack dance and the why do you need to take that tantrums, 6 cats climbing the walls and a nearly dead incontanant dog performing a dirty protest. I might wake up in 2 hours to go to the airport or I might not. Sweet dreams all.

After a quick 4 hour flight from DFW this morning, we arrived in Vancouver with plenty of time to enjoy the HoHo bus (Land & Sea was our choice as was turnip eater's for the same reasons).  Weather was outstanding helping make it a Father's Day to remember.  Wanted to share a few snapshots of the day:as we rode the bus.

Yes, they were 1 and 3/4 hours leaving Manchester, so they’ve already made up a little time. Perhaps they’ll have a good tailwind pushing them on their way 😄

my nerves would be in shreds!

lovely day here , waiting to see the Muse coming into view.

YES, the pictures in Vancouver look great.  Good luck for all arriving safely.  Plus, doing the boarding in a nice, fun way.  Plus, for having an excellent sail-away.  Looking forward to seeing more visuals, plus gaining many wonderful details and insights about the Silver Muse, the staff, food, drinks, etc.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Have Daveywavey and OH arrived on board yet? I want to know if I can uncross my fingers and toes yet. I was tracking their flight and they didn't arrive any later than predicted, so I'm hoping that no news is good news.

Agree with J.P.  Looking forward to hearing (and seeing) more on the boarding and sail-away under the big bridge in Vancouver.  Inquiring minds want to know!!??  Hopefully no news is good news for all working well being enjoyed.

Well, all aboard was 16:30, so hopefully they made it🤔.

we sailed at 18:00, after the longest Muster we’ve ever experienced (well it seemed that way)😳

The sail away from Vancouver was wonderful, under the bridge (we made it😄). The people cycling and running along Stanley Park looked so tiny in the distance.

Sailing along the Inside Passage now, 7:19am, sun shining, never seen so many fir trees, beautiful!

Appreciate these detailed comments and the very helpful follow-up from turnip eater.  Great that you are headed north to Alaska.  Just did a check at the below website to see your current positioning for the Silver Muse.  Looks like you just completed the inside passage and are now headed towards Ketchikan.  Looking forward to insights and updates from Davey and any others now on the Silver Muse.

HELLO!

Well that was all very interesting! As discussed above We were delayed but made up some time. We got to the ship with 15 mins to spare!  Embarkation was interesting. At one point I was stood on the dock shouting up to the officers on the Bridge trying to find out how the hell to get on, they didn't know! Eventually we found our way through. We're very happy to have a fully illuminated bathroom! Even the phone and TV work. They do seem to have forgotten our VIP status though!

Dinner last night was Silver Note. The food was absolutely superb. I Do think that the whole concept of the Menu is a faff but the food was wonderful. We both had the "Beehive" to start with then I Had the Venison while OH had the Lamb. The highlight of the Beehive was the egg topped with Caviar, the rest I could take or leave to be honest. The main courses were absolutely superb as were the sweets. I Finished up in the Casino last night and after being on my feet for approaching 29 hours and being $625 dollars up, I decided to call it a night.

Walker cove has been cancelled and replaced with a full day instead in Rudyerd Bay so off now to see about the different excursions that they are offering!

Formal night tonight so La Dame for us! Anybody else on the cruise feel free to pitch in here too!

Super appreciate these great pictures, comments and details.  WOW!!  What a close call for getting on the ship right at the sail-away time.  Wonderful food sampling and sharing.  Glad we've got a Silver Note reservation lined up for our late July sailing on the Silver Muse.  Keep it coming!!  And, we welcome others sharing ALL of their details, visuals, etc.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

So you made it! I was beginning to wonder.

The boarding process was the most convoluted we’d ever seen, but of course you missed that. It took us over an hour to board, not usual in our experience for Silversea.

we’ve had lunch in Kaiseki.......food was excellent, but service a farce. We were second party to enter, then it seemed that a bus had stopped outside, as every one piled  in. All were served but us. We think that our food had been given to someone else, but the senior (of two) servers just snapped at us when we queried it and she sent over the person in charge, who apologise so profusely that we almost felt guilty for complaining.

A guest who had seen this left and found the F and B manager. As we left another guest was complaining also......what a carry on!

We’ve been less than impressed with our butler. A pleasant enough soul, but as our safe wasn’t working, he suggested that we go to reception to ask security to come up and fix it...really? In the end we had to as he obviously hadn’t contacted security. A couple of other niggles. We feel that service/atmosphere on board isn’t as we expect from Silversea, but the food has been excellent!

Hi Davey, glad you made it:classic_smile:......wow cut it close for sure.

Turnip...….that does sound odd... you would have thought the butler would have called someone to fix it for you.

Anyway, hope everyone has fun.:classic_biggrin:

Luckily we missed all of that Turnip! We had lunch at Kaiseki too today, It looked quite busy and full of kids when we looked in just after 12 so we went back around 1ish and it was quieter. It was very good and the service was fine by then. I am surprised by how many teenagers there are on this cruise.

I Was chatting to a gent earlier who had managed to snap a whale this morning so they are around!

Sounds like you might have the same butler as us! Told him yesterday that they had overlooked the promise of VIP status, he said he would check. Asked him again this morning and he said he had asked his manager but his manager didn't know anything about it. I Suggested to him that maybe I should just go to reception to ask and he was fine with that.

Looks like you'll be buying the drinks! Oh, wait a minute. You're off the hook.

I agree with you on the Silver Note Beehive. Interesting presentation, lackluster flavor.
