tnr Posted June 25, 2019 #201 Share Posted June 25, 2019 I love the picture of TB and the steak bone. That is the best part of the steak. I've never had the nerve to gnaw on it in public, but plan on it the next time I'm in P7. Please tell her thanks (and hi) from me.

Rare Zqueeze1 Posted June 26, 2019 Author #203 Share Posted June 26, 2019 (edited) Good Morning: We are docked today in Liverpool and the end of cruise blues are starting to hit me. We are down to the final three full days. Yesterday was another great day spent in Holyhead, Wales. We had a tour of the Snownomia national park and the scenery along with the misty weather created a surrealistic, dark, and mysterious environment that was perfect. I almost expected a covey of Druids to appear around the next bend. This tour included a photo stop at Caernarfon, a beautiful village that contained a large, imposing castle. This village is a gem and would be a great place to tour the castle and the surrounding streets. If a tour were offered by Regent, I would highly recommend it. The rest of the afternoon was spent watching movies and at the afternoon poolside society meeting in which the sun made an appearance providing an excellent backdrop to another great day. Of course, the evening was just as great as we listened to some music up at the Galileo Lounge prior to dinner. Pam ordered a dinner portion of a risotto app that was incredibly flavorful with a distinct smokiness. I had a beef tenderloin that was just perfect. Kerty’s rapid fire banter punctuated the liveliness of Compass Rose. Here’s a pic of the Branzino served whole. After dinner, we walked into a music trivia quiz being held in the Nav Lounge. The quiz was about the origins of a song based on the composer’s home country. I failed miserably and we called it a night. Today: the Beatles tour. Rare Zqueeze1 Posted June 27, 2019 Author #207 Share Posted June 27, 2019 Good Morning: It is a beautiful and sunny day in Belfast with a projected high of 72F/22C (did I get it right this time, Hammie?). Yesterday was a lazy morning spent devising new ways to spend the kids’ inheritance. We are looking at booking a Miami to New York cruise on the new Splendor for next April. This would possibly replace two cruises we have already booked next January and June. We also went on a nice walk of the waterfront. We went on a great tour of the Beatles in Liverpool where we saw highlights of their early days. It focused mostly on John and Paul and took us to some of the more famous landmarks or their lives and songs. Rant time: why can’t folks quietly listen to the tour guide rather than talking about wether Belfast uses pounds or euros (pounds since it is part of the UK)? They then proceed to ask a question which was just covered by the tour guide or repeat everything out loud. I wanted to pull my hair out; shoot myself; or bash my head with the hammer found in the buses for breaking glass on emergency exits. Dinner was great as usual with The Boss having another risotto And I had wagyu and braised beef We have been having the sugar free ice cream lately and it is delicious. Today: touring the Titanic museum and having a pint in town. We are down to our last two days (this is where you all email me and join my pity party). Does anyone know who this is? rosepark Posted June 27, 2019 #208 Share Posted June 27, 2019 Cilla Black, a singer and later a very popular entertainer and TV personality who was a contemporary of the Beetles. She started as a hat check girl at the Cavern Club and then graduated to singing there. She had a very distinctive gutsy voice and Liverpudlian accent- probably because she was Liverpudlian. Rare ronrick1943 Posted June 27, 2019 #214 Share Posted June 27, 2019 Now this, your dinner looked great and sorry your cruise is ending. If you go on the Miami to New York, we'll be on that cruise--if so I look forward to meeting you two and I'll know where to find you. Enjoy your last few days, it seems to keep getting better---about your tour, this is why I don't like Regent tours and prefer touring by ourself. Anyway enjoy reading your about your cruise.

Travelcat2 Posted June 27, 2019 #216 Share Posted June 27, 2019 I also enjoy the sugar free ice cream but when I want to get just a bit decadent, I'll have sugar free coffee ice cream (when they it in La Veranda for lunch) and then pour chocolate sauce on top! speedlady Posted June 27, 2019 #217 Share Posted June 27, 2019 So Zman, I seem to remember you are staying in Dublin for a few days post-cruise? We were just there a year ago and spent 6 wonderful days walking all over the place! Highly recommend Sandeman Walking Tours (free but you tip). Our tour guide was terrific! However, doing Jameson and Guinness in the same day may have been a bit much! Cheers! Mary

Well, it the Puerto Rican Retirement fund (aka the Florida Lottery) comes through, we will most definitely be onboard sooner than that. As it stands, we have one booked in Jan 2020, but will drop it if we switch to April. Sorry, but this is coming directly By Order Of The Boss. I will bring it up to her during the next planning meeting Z and TB

Rare Zqueeze1 Posted June 28, 2019 Author #222 Share Posted June 28, 2019 (edited) Good Morning: Today is our last day and I hope to go off with a bang here in Dublin. We plan to visit one of the must see sights for us members of the Amalgamated Society of Social Drinkers, the Guinness brewery. Yesterday was another spectacular and sunny day with perfect weather. We spent the morning at the Titanic museum which is just outstanding. There were many interactive activities and even a simulator. We also got a great presentation and walk through of the old shipyard and how it looked and operated during the Titanic days. We held one of our last Poolside Society meetings in the afternoon while The Boss held court with Morpheus and Somnius for about three hours. We had dinner last night with a lovely couple from Jupiter, Fl. and had a few laughs. We had risotto And lobster thermidor After dinner, Pam spent the rest of our OBC on a pair of earrings before calling it a might. Commentary: Blog writing. I do mine in the mornings while having a couple of americano coffees with Kerty and Murphy. I get to watch as the ship wakens up and see all sorts of garments to include bath robes. Why do folks want to wear them in the Coffee Connection? Trivia question? Anyone know what this is?
