Best snorkeling - Roatan, Costa Maya, or Cozumel?

We're going on Liberty next April/May and want to do at least one snorkeling excursion.  Which one is has the best location?  I would prefer one that is from the beach instead of off a boat.

Snorkeling from the shore in Cozumel is okay. Check reviews of the Money Bar and Chankanaab.

Definitely Roatan would be the best. Head over to West Bay.

 

In Cozumel, I'd say go to Chankanaab or Money Bar. IMO not the best snorkeling, but that's where you'd do that at compared to any of the other beach places. 

 

In Costa Maya, there's a beautiful nice beach called Blue Kay and it's the first beach you'll get to on the Malecon (about 5-6 minutes away from the port) and there's snorkeling out by the rocky area straight ahead and it's very shallow (like 5-6 feet) and super easy to do with quite a bit to see.

West Bay in Roatan without a doubt.  You can walk right on to the reef.  Swim out and there is a channel with incredible coral on both sides as you swim.  Lots of different fish - huge parrotfish.

Cozumel has world class diving, not sure about shore diving. If you were to snorkel, take a boat trip, it's a drift dive/snorkel. The current guides you though the trip, it's awesome.

Roatan - West Bay Beach all the way to the left near the rocks - Outstanding snorkeling from shore.  Bananarama resort has a cruise ship package for $35.
