Venchi vs. John-Philippe...Different Policies?

So maybe someone can explain this to me....

Seaside Venchi- With Premium Bev and YC we received included Alcoholic Martinis such as the Espresso and Chocolate Martinis, etc off that menu. We also, as part of the Prem Bev and YC received included Specialty Coffees on the menu and Gelato.

Now we will be sailing Meraviglia in 2020. Ive been told on this forum that NONE of those same products are included with YC and Prem Bev package. Why? Its the same corporate venue with the same products with a different corporate name?

I know its their bat, their ball, and they own the eraser, and can do what they want, but come on. Thats just ridiculous to have such different experiences and policies depending on the ship.

I debated whether I’d post this topic but I decided to, just in case I’ve been advised wrong by members here or Im just not getting it, and maybe it can clear some confusion in the future for others.

Jean-Philippe is the brand of Jean-Philippe Maury, a famous french pastry chef. Jean-Philippe Maury worked at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and opened Jean-Philippe Patisserie in the Bellagio Hotel and later another Patisserie in the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Both Patisseries are closed. Jean-Philippe Maury opened iDessert in San Diego.

MSC Cruises partnered with Jean-Philippe Maury and is using his brand, expertise and business model on some of the newer ships.

We are on the Meraviglia next April in the Caribbean. I’m hoping they will mirror the Seaside chocolate inclusions at that time.

They will, but you will need to pay for the Jean Philippe offerings no matter which experience or drinks package you choose.....!

Each ship does work differently and I had it in writing in an email from MSC UK saying so after I questioned why the ameneties pack was not in our Aft Aurea Suite as part of the Aurea package on our first Seaside sailing in December 2017.

On a prior cruise on Divina, Venchi was included with the drink package.  On a very recent cruise on Bellissima, John-Phillipe was not included with a similar drink package.  However, "no name" soft serve gelato served poolside was included.

Our next cruise has a downgraded drink package, so I don't think either will be included, but this was our experience on our prior sailings.

The YC comes with Prem. I said both just in case some folks didnt know that.

Thank  you for your comment.  As a rookie, I am still learning.  MSC seems to be a bit different "animal" than the cruise lines with which I have patronized in the past.

Just for clarification ... Venchi gelato was included on Divina (and other ships) at the gelato stand outside the buffet and in the Piazza (on Fantasia-class ships) with the old drinks packages.  However, there is no Venchi venue on Divina.

The new drinks packages are strictly that - nothing but drinks included from here on in.

Premium Plus includes cabin minibar, including the snacks therein.

OK, G ... apart from the mini-bar snacks.  Beforehand, room service items were included in Deluxe/Premium, and gelato was included in both Classic/R&B and Deluxe/Premium packages, with sundaes and other treats in the Piazza venue on Fantasia-class ships also being included in Deluxe/Premium.  These were the items I was referring to.

Sounds like his first two business models didn't work so well if they are both closed.
