Rare John&LaLa Posted June 28, 2019 #28 Share Posted June 28, 2019 Our Aft JS had issues in November. Just our cabin, though.

Always get out of the Philippines in April as May is the hottest month, right before rain and typhoon season.

sewingmolly Posted June 28, 2019 #31 Share Posted June 28, 2019 At this point most of the ship seems under air conditioned. Currently we’re in the teen center. The first really cool place we’ve found.

scooter1954 Posted June 29, 2019 #35 Share Posted June 29, 2019 We were on this ship May 31 through June 5th and experience same problem. Daughter was on 8th floor aft inside room and A/C was not cooling. Maintenance came to unplug the vent. They pulled a basketball size pile of stuff out of the vent after the 3rd day. They received a 25% cruise credit with the help of the Diamond Concierge. Guest services was slow to react. The ship is in need of some serious repairs. My final payment is due next week --- I'm concerned after reading so many people say this ship needs help. But i was so worried about Vision and it was great. Decisions decisions. scooter1954 Posted June 29, 2019 #37 Share Posted June 29, 2019 I was on the Vision OTS 4 times when the ship was in Galveston. The ship was in great shape which I think represented the attitude of the captain. We had a great time on the Enchantment OTS but the ship needs a refurbishment. travelplus Posted June 29, 2019 #38 Share Posted June 29, 2019 Isn't Air Conditioning a, basic operational issue and if it fails they have portable air conditioners? Let's just say your medical condition requires you to be cool and not in a very hot small cabin?
sksadams Posted June 29, 2019 Author #39 Share Posted June 29, 2019 This is what I found out....on ships the air conditioning works in zones. There is one zone completely out and right now this affects 50 cabins! There are also several crew cabins without air. There was a big meeting Thursday morning and it was said they hope to have it fixed by the end of July per an employee I was not at the meeting. I am very concerned as I am booked again on this boat in September and when I mentioned this to two different officers they both asked if I had made final payment. They did finally downgrade us but we had air conditioning the last 2 nights and it was wonderful. The crew on this boat are amazing they cared but there just isn’t much they can do. Cooperate needs to quit selling these cabins and cancel the ones that are booked. I will be contacting cooperate on Monday and we will see how they handle this problem. tvo7 Posted June 29, 2019 #40 Share Posted June 29, 2019 DO you know which part of the part of the ship is without ac right now?
sewingmolly Posted June 29, 2019 #41 Share Posted June 29, 2019 We are currently in an aft cabin on deck 7 port side. It was very warm in the cabin yesterday when we got on the ship. I reported it and someone came by while we were at dinner and fixed it. The cabin has been comfortable ever since. Also yesterday a lot of the public areas seemed warm. This may have just been because of so much of ship being open on turnover day and me being extra aware due to this thread. Today the temperature seems fine everywhere except the hallway to cabin, which is still a little warm. I’ve also had two follow ups to make sure our problem was resolved. jimmyjam1973 Posted July 3, 2019 #43 Share Posted July 3, 2019 Well just got off the phone with RC customer service......due to the AC issue on the ship, we've been downgraded from Ocean View Room on deck 2 to an interior room on deck 4. This was a "free" trip through casino royale and we paid for my daughter to come, so RC has refunded most of what we paid for her and gave us a $200 on board credit. I asked why not upgrade us to a balcony or suite, and I guess they're not booking rooms with AC issues. Bummed, but at least we're still going. Just keeping fingers crossed that the new room's AC is working!!!

I’m assuming you were in an aft cabin since that’s where the issues seem to be.

We're not in the room that much so as long as we have AC, we'll be okay.

We're on the July 17th cruise, have our friends (first time cruisers!) in a balcony 7th deck aft port-side.....i'm wondering if i should be calling someone to try and get them moved? or, if their cabin is affected it sounds like maybe RC will be calling us?? sewingmolly Posted July 4, 2019 #50 Share Posted July 4, 2019 That's what I experienced on the last cruise. I think that they turned off some of the a\c to work on it during the turn around. We had dinner at Chops on the first night and it wasn't warm there. The ship was nice and cool the next day, except for the hallway leading to our cabin on deck 7 aft. Hopefully your cruise will be the same.
