Independence of The Seas Chartered for Jan 16-24, 2021

Recommended Posts

I didn't see this topic posted, so apologize if this is a duplicate.  I received an email this morning letting me know that the cruise I'm booked on has now been chartered. We were on the January 16th sailing to Grand Cayman and Coco Cay out of Fort Lauderdale.  They did give me options, but nothing with Coco Cay, which is why we booked that one in the first place.  Still, we chose one of the options that was price protected and will stop in Grand Cayman and Cozumel instead.  Bummer, but we had such a deal and not a lot of flexibility on dates, and Cozumel is fun.

I did a quick search and here's what the charter is.  http://www.capitaljazz.com/supercruise/2021/

Interesting, I have a B2B2B booked In January 2021. Haven’t received any e-mail yet. Better check my junk folder.

The. notices can go out at different times, especially if you are booked through a TA.  I’m still waiting on notices for clients booked on Harmony in April 2021 and I think people started receiving them Tuesday.

What did I miss... what is going on with Harmony in April 2021. The flyer I have shows dates, but online there are none. Did I miss some news?

Looks like the Independence of the Seas originally scheduled sailings for January 16, 2021, January 21, 2021 and January 25, 2021 are all showing as "closed".  The first two would cover the charter mentioned by the OP. The January 25th date is a new one.

I was booked on the 1/21, 1/25, and 1/30 sailings. Still awaiting notification on 1/21 and now 1/25.

The Independence of the Seas has been chartered for the past few years for 70,000 tons of Metal right around that time (Might be 2nd week of Jan).  I have a co-worker that is going on their 4th next year.

I am on Indy Jan. 24, 2020. It is a casino comp cruise I booked in April. I need to look to see if it is a charter or partial charter because it is weird that no Junior Suites are available. I have been checking every few days since April.

At least this one will be over for sure 😉  Some cruises have special groups mixed in among regular cruisers ("Partial Charters" as you said) but most "Music" cruises (At least the ones I know of) are 100% chartered and not sold through regular channels.

Some follow one after the other.  Example, Norwegian Pearl, chartered for like 6 weeks in a row from mid Jan every year for a variety of music/variety cruises one after the other. Blues, Outlaw Country, Cayamo(Americana, Roots), Rock & Roll.   That way they get one big setup and crew and use the same for all of them.

Yes, the Jan 29 cruise (the one after our cruise) is the K Love  Christian music cruise. And the Heavy  Metal cruise is two weeks before.  I did a Google chartered cruises search and nothing shows up on Indy for Jan. 24.  It is just weird that all categories are available EXCEPT JSs.

Interesting... I hope you find out why that is.  Best of luck for your cruise anyway 🙂

I would be so interested to join up on that Cayamo Cruise or a Blues Cruise, but my wife being in schools, never had the opportunity to take the time off when these types of cruises generally happen.  But now she just got a School district position and can take time when she wants so we will take a closer look for the next seasons 😁

I went on the uk royal site. And you are correct. All JS are gone. Uk site is only showing grand suite and owners suite available in the suite catagory.

Maybe one will open up with a royal up bid.

I realize this is an older post but recently book a cruise on board our last cruise for the  Independance Jan 24-30th 2021 sailing. Did anyone ever hear anything on this sailing?

Of course there could always be more, but full charter-wise so far I only see that the cruise prior to this sailing on Jan 16 - 24 2021 is chartered for the "The SuperCruise XVI".

Group-wise I do see a group on your Jan 24 - 30 2021 Independence sailing - the "David Phelps Boat-Bash" (maybe gospel music?). Not sure if it can turn into a full charter:
