Changing Date

We r booked for a Princess Regal 2020 February cruise...with Allianz insurance. We r thinking of changing to February 2021. Will we have to buy insurance again ?

I would call Allianz to see if it is possible to transfer the policy to a different trip.  Also, consider that you likely will be better to transfer your cruise deposit to a different sailing rather than doing a cruise cancel and rebook.

by "better" do you mean "better odds the policy will transfer if you do it that way ... i.e., transfer the same cruise deposit vs cancel and rebook?

I would seek guidance from the insurance company ... and explain to them what you hope to do, to be sure they even allow the change.  And to have them define their expected sequence of events to preserve benefits such ad pre-existing waiver.

 

As I see it, just seems odd to cancel a cruise and rebook something else and also to move that same insurance from a now cancelled trip to a new one.  But I may be making something of nothing.

 

Admittedly, I'm no expert ... just taking a cautious approach.
