We are deciding which. cabin to bid on , yet for our upcoming sailing 2 of the cabin types that have bid meters are not even showing as available if I wanted to do a regular upgrade? Does celebrity have these cabins on hold or why are they asking to bid on cabins not even showing as available if I was a new reservation etc?  Confused..

It is the domino effect. They are suggesting these cabins may be available to bid on, on the basis that the passengers already allocated into those cabins have themselves been invited to bid up. Therefore if the higher grade passengers bid up and Celebrity reallocate them then may be successful in getting one of their cabins.   If the system works well, this could transcend many cabin grades with all bid up offers being dependent on the people at the top moving up and then creating the availability in the next category down and so on.
