Back from Iceland on Ventura

Recommended Posts

We really enjoyed this cruise.  It was nice to bump into Silversurf albeit briefly. The weather was unexpectedly good and the sea was like a mill pond, bearing in mind we travelled over the North Sea, North Atlantic and the Irish Sea. Iceland is quite remarkable and the Faroes unexpectedly beautiful.  The only downside about the ship for us was the incessant loud background music everywhere.  There was no escape to read, have a quiet drink or chat apart from our balcony when the sun was out. Despite that,  a great holiday.

Glad you had a nice time.

Iceland is next on our agenda but will look at Aurora or Arcadia, can't be having all that noise.

Thank you for the feedback.

Andy

Sounds great! We are off to Iceland in a couple of weeks so hopefully we have some good weather too! Really looking forward to it.

We are on Arcadia shortly to Iceland, any excursions from P and O you can recommend that you undertook Happy Traveller?

We enjoyed this cruise as well although didn't really notice the music round the ship but agree there was often something going on in public areas during the day when you might just want to take it easy. If we had a gripe it was the loud noises early every morning and in the evening which sounded like a cross between an underground train coming out of a tunnel and the ships thrusters at full power. Our cabin was on deck 14 close to the buffet above so assumed it was the staff moving large trolleys around - not much you can do about that so no issues on what was a very interesting cruise venue - at least once! 😁

Everyone we talked to who did the Golden Circle like us, really enjoyed it.  Mind you the weather was good.

Thank you for the update, I will share it with my daughter (24). She is not going on a cruise, but renting a camper van for two and a half weeks to travel the island by herself.

Superb cruise, such interesting places. My favourite was The Faroes, beautiful and peaceful.

was pleased to meet MrsTex and happytravellerUK. Did you manage to get some accessible tours. Our Busybus tour in Scotland was excellent.

Thought the food was much better than the last time we were on Ventura and the group Graffiti were brilliant.

That's the cruise we are going on too. Hope we get the decent weather that the OP had.

We also enjoyed this cruise very much.  So lucky with the weather and sea conditions!

Our first time on Ventura and impressed overall - good food and great staff.

Another recommendation for the Faroe Islands.  We did the Traditional Villages tour - the guide was excellent and the scenery was wonderful.
