chloe kitty Posted July 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2019 We have used this before on Princess, but this will be our first time using it on Carnival. How far in advance do you usually apply for it? Does it usually come thru within a few days? Thank you,

Carnival says you need to submit at 3 weeks prior to sailing.

naxer Posted July 12, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2019 I send it in snail mail two months before--it's part of my countdown routine. I usually get an email from them confirming it in about a week or two.
NCTribeFan Posted July 12, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2019 I usually wait until the end of the month prior to my cruise, depending on the sailing date. I sail on 10/26 so I'll send in my 9/30 statement. If I were sailing in the first half of the month, I'd send in the 8/31 statement. FTR, I just submitted for my first RCL shareholder benefit. I haven't sailed RC since my 2nd cruise in 2003 but have read that their lines have always denied the OBC when you have ANY sort of discounted fare or one that includes perks. Well, that changed as of any bookings after 6/1. I submitted for my May 2021 X sailing and had it approved! Kind of defeats the purpose of requiring that passengers are shareholders at the time they sail, doesn't it! I figured I'd send it in and get it applied before they changed their minds. 😁
riffatsea Posted July 12, 2019 #7 Share Posted July 12, 2019 When I do final payment for the cruise I send in the statement. Carnival allows you to scan and email in addition to fax. guestadmin@carnival.com It comes through within 24hrs.

Will def look into it since you said things changed in June.

Supposedly, you have to have booked after 6/1/18, but some have reported success with submitting their request for sailings that were booked before that date. Doesn't hurt to try, right? As for CCL stock, the only time I have ever been denied the OBC was on a HAL cruise that was a deeply-discounted casino fare. I'm pretty sure that Carnival gives the credit even on free casino cruises (I've never received one so wouldn't know). IMHO, all of Carnival Corporation's lines should follow the same policy in this instance. The "rules" should be applied to all the lines in a consistent manner. But that would be asking too much, I suppose.

When I emailed my statement for our May cruise they told me it had to be faxed, that they could no longer accept them via email. Don't know if that was just one person or if that is the new standard. Would be interesting to see if others that have sailed recently were able to email their statement.

I was the told same thing back in May when i submitted my documents for my cruise in June on the sunrise. I then gave them copies of the fax failure error message i was getting when i fax my documents to them. then finally they told me that will accept my shareholder documents by email. ALWAYS CRUZIN Posted July 12, 2019 #15 Share Posted July 12, 2019 On the Princess web site it is super easy to find your credits. All spelled out. I cannot find them on the Carnival web site. I have 4 cruises booked and no information on the OBC or the share holders credit. Anyone know how to find it?
NCTribeFan Posted July 12, 2019 #16 Share Posted July 12, 2019 There's a link for Investors at the bottom of the main site. Then you have to work your way through the menus to get there. Haven't been there for a long time since I already know the procedure. When you finally find it, it lists all the Lines and the OBC available for each (based on length of cruise). Or Google it. That will probably save a few steps.

What I am looking for is where it shows it has been applied to my cruises. I sent it in in May to Princess to apply it towards my Princess cruises that I applied for and my Carnival cruises that I applied for. The application is sent to Princess for both. It is on the Princess site and easy to find. Maybe Carnival does not show your credits.

After submitting my 'paperwork' via email last week, I received credit on 4 upcoming cruises. So, apparently, email use is still accepted. They are 2 separate companies of the same corporation but you don't just send to one address for both lines!! The fax number is different for each line. When you send the info for Carnival cruises it goes to fax no: 305 406 6102 When you send to Princess it goes to fax no: 661-753-0180 They are 2 completely separate offices! Once you send to the correct number you should find your credits listed on your Carnvial invoice Go into your booking and look at credits and payments and you should find it.

I submitted my request yesterday for our two upcoming Princess cruises. It's the same form for all CCL cruise lines: http://www.carnivalcorp.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=140690&p=irol-sharebenefit I hope to receive a confirmation they received my request in email. I suspect we need to log onto the cruise line's website to see that OBC. Edited July 13, 2019 by PaperSniper4
