We're currently booked on the Carnival Paradise for a 5 day cruise and are contemplating booking the next 4 day cruise and have some questions.

 

Do you have to disembark at the end of the 5 day and then go through the whole process to get back on board?

Do you stay in the same cabin for the whole 9 days?  

Can any OBC left transfer over to the next cruise, or do you cash out and set up a new account?

you haive to leave the ship for a short time but a Carnival staff member will escort you and bring you back on. If you are changing cabins- they will move your luggage. The OBC w ill not transfer since you will have a separate booking number.

If you work with Carnival they can get you the same cabin as long as it's not already booked, or move your current cabin so they are the same.  If you do that then you won't have to pack.  Just leave your luggage in your room.

Thank you.   I'm going to try to get the same cabin - - I don't want to have to pack and unpack and if I don't have to.

We did a back to back in the same cabin.  We were escorted off the ship for probably 30 minutes to get a new S&S card.  It was fun hanging around watching everyone rushing off the ship, then being on an empty ship, then already there as the next cruisers arrived.

The 10:30-11:00 pre boarding was kind of weird as everything was closed. There are more crew than passengers. We hung out in the empty Serenity area and at about 11:15 our favorite bartender came to our chairs and said "bars open", pretty cool, eyed our new S&S number.

Thanks everyone.  We decided to go ahead and book it.   It was too good a deal to pass up, although we had to go from an interior cabin to an ocean view to stay in the same cabin for both sailings.   It was only a total of $130 to do it, so well worth not having to change cabins.

Congrats. We just about always book B2Bs. Last was a B2B2B on the Liberty 4 day, 3 day, 4 day. Same waitstaff for all 3 cruises.

We basically did what you are now doing but in reverse.  We had a 4 day cruise booked going with some of my-laws.  I then started looking at prices for the following 5 day cruises and when I determined that we could essentially a 9 night cruise for what we were paying for 7 day cruises at the time it was no brainer.  So I booked the 5 nighter.

 

It was kind of cool, I almost felt like a rock star.  The bar tenders/servers new my drink preference on day one of the 5 nighter.   I love piano bars.  So pretty much hang out there for both legs.  I am also a Jimmy Buffett fan.  On the first night on the first leg she played Margaritaville.  There is a part in the song while not in the lyrics everyone goes "Salt, Salt, Salt".  On the first night of the first leg,  I did this.  I was in her eyesight, she smiled and nodded.   By the end of that cruise, I had taught the other passengers to do the salt thing at the appropriate time.

 

So on first night of the second leg, I go to the piano bar, but sit behind her.  So she plays the Margaritaville, and when I do the salt thing, she turns around and lets out a laugh.  So when that set was over she came over, sat down, and we had a nice conversation before her next set.  I imagine the other passenger who is this guy and does he know the piano player.

I've done two B2Bs thus far, one with CCL and the other with RCI. Both times I booked the two segments separately (adding the second leg at a later date) so I had to switch cabins. I would definitely recommend getting the same cabin for both if you can, that saves you from having to pack your stuff on the last night of the first cruise.
