as did the person i quoted

Maybe I'm reading it wrong but I read that as sarcasm towards the OP.  I may be incorrect since I haven't had coffee yet and my brain is stuck in neutral.

A crew member was in the suite doing maintenance and said nothing.  Later the kid was throwing hot dogs at birds and saying he “would punch one in the face if it got close”.

You were really interested in this family that you knew what they were saying.  Be careful the family may call security on you for stalking, lol.

very classy move to call someone trashy, do you know the context behind this picture, were you there?  No you just made an assumption based on someone else picture and word.   I guess if it said on the internet it is true .  Maybe this was done for 15 seconds as a fun picture, maybe the fishing line was just below the edge of the picture, maybe there was not even a hook on the line.  This is the problem with society today, everyone gets judged on one picture or action.  Very sad state of affairs.

Let me take a wild guess...you think it's fine to play music on your balcony. Am I wrong?

So, those of us who sail NCL are trash?  WOW! Pretty harsh!

No, but the people who grab food in the buffet with their hands, chair hog, smoke/play music on their balconies...and fish off the back of the ship...are.

so you are comparing someone who plays music that may bother or disturb someone else to someone who is "fishing" and not bothering anyone?  and No i do not think that any noise that bothers anyone else on the balcony is ok, again with the assumptions

I stand corrected, then.

same as someone who may wear shorts or flip flops in one of the nicer restaurants, while it is not something i would do, I could care less what others do, does not bother me in the least or take away from my experience with my family

Music on your balcony is the same as shorts and flip flops in the restaurant? Huh? I thought you just said you thought music on the balcony was unacceptable.

Music is not ok as it bothers others, shorts and flip flops do not bother others in any way

Interesting how the clientele is getting more trashy....

Your words......

Since the last 3 cruises I've taken have been on NCL, you're saying I'm "getting more trashy".  Nice!

I think it's fair to say you see more of the trashy behavior I described on NCL cruises today than 10-15 years ago. Maybe that's not specific to NCL, I don't know. They're usually all I sail.

Its not exclusive to cruise ships. Everyone feels entitled to do whatever they want these days.  Rules are for those other people.

Has it occurred to anyone that due to the cutbacks with NCL that maybe the Haven removed fish from their menu.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

LOL and perhaps that's the "catch du jour" on the dinner menu!

I agree with the OP.  The kid in this pic acting this way is a typical spoiled brat who comes from money and does what they feel like because mommy and daddy will try to buy their way out of trouble.  The people posting here defending this kid are the same types of people; entitled and snobby to the fullest.

There is no reason for a passenger to have a fishing rod on a cruise ship.  If this kid fell overboard pulling some stunt with the fishing pole on the balcony I’m sure the parents would be blaming the cruise line for their kid’s stupidity.

Cruise lines need need to be more harsh with their punishment of unruly passengers and rule breakers.  I don’t give a “bleep” if you are in the most expensive suite on the ship or if you are in an inside cabin, everyone should be treated the same both good and bad.

I think it is a big deal.  Rules are for reasons.  Someone could get hurt by the hook and if he did catch a fish throwing it back ten stories high is animal cruelty.  And yes we did report it.  We did repost to block the face of the guilty. Honestly, I think it amazing how people can defend every behavior on this board.  My biggest complaint with NCL isn’t the price, food, or entertainment.  It’s the trashy clientele and crew I’ve talked to say it’s only getting worse.  Everyone acts so entitled and above rules unlike the luxury lines where most here think is “snobby”.

You think that’s bad? You should have seen the piñata police I dealt with a few years ago. The fact that everyone was losing their mind over it was pretty funny considering I was talking about doing it on the deck 9 AFT penthouse balcony which had more then enough room and then some.

Some people are just not happy unless they are miserable.

I would love to know more.   Why or how did people find out about your piñata?

Who doesn't love a good pinata?!  Maybe there was concern about things like debris and candy flying overboard?

And BTW, how did you get that fancy symbol over the "n" ?

If someone was smashing a pinata on the balcony next to me I'd have security there in 1 minute. What is wrong with you people?
