MellyBell Posted July 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2019 Has anyone flown into Fairbanks at a time other than 2 am. We are coming from Florida and so far we can only find flights that arrive into Fairbanks at 2am. We are willing to fly into somewhere else and stay over a night if it means we don't arrive in Fairbanks in the middle of the night. Thanks in advance. StephAndy Posted July 27, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2019 Alaskan Airlines has several flights to Fairbanks. We'll be flying through Seattle and getting in before 5 pm but they've probably got a flight from some airport in more of a direct line from Florida than Seattle. mapleleaves Posted July 28, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2019 (edited) can you fly into Anchorage to overnight, then fly into Fairbanks the next day? Alaska Airlines has several flights every day from Anc to Fai. Or overnight in Seattle then fly onto Fai. Northern Aurora Posted July 28, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 28, 2019 I wonder where in Florida MellyBell lives. Just a quick look at the Alaska Airlines website shows options out of FLL which would get you into Fairbanks as early as 4:40 PM -- but there will be two stops (either LAX or DFW). TIBTEE Posted July 28, 2019 #7 Share Posted July 28, 2019 We are flying from Tampa on Delta and arrive in Fairbanks at 9:53pm but with 2 stops.
SoBaycruiser Posted July 28, 2019 #8 Share Posted July 28, 2019 Some things to consider: We fly into Fairbanks on Friday from LA. We chose a non-stop to Anchorage and then continuing on to Fairbanks because of the multiple flights between Anchorage and Fairbanks. If a delayed flight causes us to miss our connection, there are other options... including renting a car if timing gets critical. Seattle has fewer flights to Fairbanks. A missed connection might mean a major delay. We also found flights that arrived at a reasonable time cost more than late night arrivals. We didn’t want to arrive at midnight or later which gave us the choice of flying to Anchorage and spend the night before flying on to Fairbanks or pay the higher flight cost. We took the latter.
