Getting a scooter off/on ship in port?

I'll be using a rented scooter on a cruise next month for the first time.

I know I can't take it on the tenders (3 stops), but what's the process for getting off/on in docked ports?

I'll be on the Caribbean Princess in Nova Scotia & Newfoundland (dock ports).

I'll also post this on the Princess board.

Thanks!

Its very easy to get on/off. Sometimes the gangway may be a little steep, but there is always a crew member escorting you on the gangway just in case you need a little push or to make sure you don't tip over.

When you dock in Halifax, Nova Scotia there is a huge market area (covered) that is so easy with a scooter.   You can also go outside and to the downtown area right beside the ocean.  Very easy to do.

Piece of cake. The Canadian ports are very very very handicapped friendly. In Halifax and St John, the ramps seem to self adjust according to the tides.

However, even with the adjustments, the ramps can be quite steep.  Also, on our last August cruise in Halifax, Paxs were using the same ramps for getting on/off the ship.

Princess must be different than RCL then. Halifax has always been the smoothest process of any port we've been to. You said passengers were using the same ramp. Does Princess have separate accessible ramps?

I think they mean the ramps serve as both an exit and entrance, and crew will have to hold up oncoming traffic so the scooter rider may proceed.
