Was there anything you did not like  about your NCL cruise?

Incorrect information on the cabin TV screens regarding distance to next port and lack of sea conditions (.Epic) and the missing pixels on the screen at Spice H20

I love being looked after for the duration of the cruise; on a land vacation I dither about where to eat, there is always somewhere better round the corner, even if in reality there isn’t. I live  in the UK and Ireland but spent my childhood holidays in the US so love that ncl gives me a little bit of the US while still being on holiday in Europe.

Specifically I love ncl because I can dress up or not in the evening. I also love their speciality restaurants.

The thing I wound change is the glass on the Epic,  especially the tinted glass on the upper decks; why oh why not had railings that you can see through as you can on the older ships? It’s impossible to see the ocean  in the Great Outdoors or from deck 18 and drives me nuts.

What I like best about NCL is the freestyle dining: being able to have tables for 2 , not being stuck to one dining time, not having to pack formal clothes - these all make a difference.

It may sound weird but I also like having a different waiter each evening.  I am polite and I smile with the wait staff, but I just want to talk to my husband.   I do not need to be on first name terms with my waiter which seems to be the way of fixed dining.

Love freestyle cruising on a well maintained & clean ship.  Allows for a relax vacation in casual wear with no cooking or cleaning.  I felt like a Lady of Leisure!!!  Stewards & waiters are very friendly & attentive.  Only started cruising in 2016 & hoping to continue at least once a year on NCL.  I sailed on the Breakaway (2016) Gem (2017) Escape (2018 & 2019).  So far I like the newer ships due to the bells & whistles they offer.  Stayed in the Haven for the first time 7/2019 & now I’m spoiled!  Once you go Haven you will not want to go back. 😆

Look forward to future cruising on the Bliss & Encore😎

Well I will start by saying I certainly would not be bothered with what the TV had to say about distance to the next port. You get there when you get there.

favorite things: friendly and helpful crew

free style dining with dress code option

dining choices

least: sometimes there isn't enough to do on sea days

not enough new ports offered

cost for a spa pass

how sloppy some people dress, but that is the case of too many cruise lines today.

All great answers.  I like the Freestyle concept.  I wish there was more activities on sea days that weren't an extra charge.  There seems to be a lot to do, but most have those extra charges.  I like the trivia which is free.  I go to Deal or no Deal, but just to watch.  It's way too much money.  Bingo is fun but again way too much for what you get.  I always find things to do and any cruise is better than being home.

Best:  At any port finding an outdoor cafe/bar serving locally brewed beer.

Least:  A sea day that has a heavy downpour so EVERYONE is inside making a very crouded situation!

First I haven't found any cruise that I didn't enjoy. Drink package, Specialty Dining, Waterfront on newer ships, friendly staff on NCL come to mind.

Didn't like rude/inconsiderate pax, smoke from Casino ( although cruiselines are trying to fix that).

Also learned everything won't be perfect , so roll with it.

Best: O'Sheehan (chicken wings and beer, need I say more?), Haven and the Future Cruise credits (so I can cruise more with NCL but unfortunately, not in the Haven)

Least: MDR -- but this is subjective, slow service and rude when it came to dealing with my kids nut allergies (better service at the Specialty and buffet, not to mention quicker)

I like the theater shows on NCL.  I think that is one category where NCL excels.

I just returned from an Alaskan cruise on the Holland Westerdam and while they beat NCL in many categories, the entertainment onboard was weak to say the least.

I like the Free Perks even though they are not really free.  They are cheaper than what they would be if I were to buy them and I probably wouldn't have anyway.  I also like the 3rd guest free offer, that is a big savings when traveling with a child.  I like the many dining options along with it being freestyle.  I can choose to eat when I am ready to and if the wait is long in one MDR I can choose a different one or go to the noodle bar or O'Sheahens (sp).  I like the Splash Academy for my son so he can have something to do in the evening while my wife and I do something more adult oriented, but more importantly he likes to go there.

I don't like how crowded the deck has been made around the main pool.  I don't like how there is very limited seating around the second/kids pool.  I don't like all the smoke/smell around the smoking areas on deck or in the casinos.

On the Escape last July we loved Howl at the Moon and The Choir of Man. Some of the best entertainment on any cruise I've gone on.

Definitely enjoy freestyle cruising, although you can pretty much do it on other lines too nowadays.

Didn't bring any pants last year. Every night in nice shorts and a nice t-shirt or button down. Light packing is always good and I love to dress comfortably.

Drink package perk, for me and my family, works great. We have no problem staying within the $15 limit and I like how NCL allows 2 drinks at a time.

Had such a terrific time on Escape last year that we're booked for January, 2020 on Encore.

I love being somewhere my phone doesn't work.  We never get the Wifi package so we can unplug and not be bothered.  We shut our phones off and they go into the safe until the cruise is over.  And you know what, my job and the stress that come with it are there when I get home but I feel better (at least for a little while).  We mix it up on our itineraries too.  My daughter likes port heavy trips while my wife and I enjoy sea days in between.  My son just likes "free food".  It's fun to see him grow and try things he never would if we were paying for it.  I ask them to try 2-3 different things each trip.

My wife loves the idea of not worrying about anything once we get on the ship.  We spent 10 days in Jamaica this summer and food was always an issue.  Paying one price and then being able to eat in a restaurant is great.  We've been on the EPIC, Getaway & Sun and have the Escape booked next year.

Hard to find a negative.  We are very easy going and just take whatever bumps there are and move on.  We're not going to let chair hogs, smoke or a wait for free drink ruin a vacation with our kids.  It's just not worth because I am not working.

Thermal spa in the Bliss..loved the robes, the pool in the thermal spa, and just relaxing on one of the thermal spa chairs with my warm fluffy towels and cozy robe after taking a dip in the spa tub or spa pool.

BEST part of the vacation!!!! Did it once or twice a day and spent hours in there enjoying the beautiful sea view. It is so pretty and relaxing in there when the sun goes down also.

I did did not like the smoke in the Spice H20 area, so we avoided that entire area the entire cruise.

Best:  Freestyle cruising just fits us.  We love not being told when and where to eat, not having to eat with strangers and not having to dress up for formal nights.  We love all the options for dining as well, and think the food is really pretty good for cruise line food.  We also greatly appreciate the friendly crew.

Worst:    We have sailed Disney several times in the past and particularly enjoyed the dedicated movie theater and the enrichment lectures about ports of call (NOT the shopping briefing, but actual interesting information about the port's history, wildlife, etc.).  We've missed this on the two NCL cruises we have taken.  Though, as we tend to gravitate toward port heavy cruises anyway, it's not that big of a deal.
