BRINGING SODA ON BOARD

On Embarkation Day, does water/soda have to be in your carry on bag or can you give it to a porter to deliver to your cabin?

The policy is that you are supposed to carry it on, but what happens at the port can vary.

Because:

 

the porters are tired of having to haul soda around

 

perhaps if you consider it too much trouble, you won't bring it

Because the porters and crew have better things to do with their time than schlepp 24 packs of water and soda for guests.

I've heard of some giving it to the porter.  I'm sailing out of Port Canaveral and am going to ask when I check my luggage.  Hoping that they'll take it, but if not I'll carry it on.

You "have heard" of past practices, but things have changed.

 

Carry it on yourself, or forget it.

Buy one of those inexpensive wheel duffel bags and wheel it on yourself as you have been advised by those who know.  For me, Less is More.

You will find Port Canaveral to be more strict than the other ports.  If you are bringing it...plan on carrying it.

If you have a drink package, you may be able to get unopened cans in the Windjammer and bottled water from bars, coffee shops, etc. Check with people who have sailed the ship recently. I like to keep a couple cans and bottles in my room refrigerator in case I get thirsty at night.

This is great news!  When we first cruised Oasis in 2011, they didn't allow pop to be carried on.  

 

We don't drink pop anymore, but we do like Club Soda.  Glad to hear we can bring some on board now!
