Rare little britain Posted August 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2019 (edited) It has just been announced that UK cruise line P&O have pulled their cruises based in Dubai which were meant to start this October. Could RCI do likewise? https://www.travelmole.com/news_feature.php?news_id=2038677&c=setreg®ion=2 Edited August 7, 2019 by little britain
Biker19 Posted August 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2019 Jewel is going there a bit later so RCI may wait some more.
Rare kernow Posted August 7, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2019 I just saw an article about the P and O cancellations and wondered the same thing. I think it's very likely that RCI will make changes. Also wondering what might happen with Hong Kong, we have a cruise due to end there in Feb and that situation seems to be escalating too. Rare little britain Posted August 7, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted August 7, 2019 I think they need a few tins of Dulux to get rid of the big Union Jack painted on the hulls of their ships!!!!!!

Seems to be no impact, yet. https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/news/featured/hong-kong-cruise-operations-as-normal-despite-escalated-protests/
Rare little britain Posted August 7, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted August 7, 2019 (edited) Wow. Swift nifty piece of marketing by MSC. Just issued confirmation that their itineraries are going ahead in the region and offering OBC to any P&O displaced guests who book with them..... et tu RCI? Jeannie333333 Posted August 7, 2019 #8 Share Posted August 7, 2019 I'm wondering if P & O did that as its a 'British' ship / cruise line - with big Union Jacks on the side - and so more likely to be targeted?
boogybaby Posted August 8, 2019 #9 Share Posted August 8, 2019 It would be good if Rccl could also confirm jewel is going to the region, we have 2 cruises booked, also going to Hong Kong in January, janice

Rare kernow Posted August 9, 2019 #12 Share Posted August 9, 2019 It's interesting that at the moment Costa have not cancelled any sailings from Dubai and they have the same parent company (Carnival).
