 We are going on our first Princess cruise on  the Sky Princess....We have the Ultimate Beverage Package is canned soda Included or Just Fountain?   thank you in Advance...

Just in case you are not aware, Princess places no limit on the amount of canned soda you wish to take on board.  So if you stop off at a supermarket before you board, you can load up on cans and take them with you.  You can tape luggage tags to them and hand them off to the porters when you get to the dock and they will get to your cabin with the rest of your luggage.  If you are cruising the Caribbean after Sky makes it way over, that would be really easy to do.  Even if you are cruising the Med before the transatlantic, it would be relatively easy to do.

We are boarding the Sky Princess in Civitavecchia on Nov. 10.  Is there a place to buy canned soda within walking distance of the port?  Anyone know the price and if it tastes the same as that purchased in the US?

My last cruise I saw a guy with two of the long canned 12 packs setting nicely on top of his carry on. He had something like a bungee to hold them in place.

There are a few small supermarkets near the ports entrance, it all depends on how you intend to arrive. Coke in Europe tastes exactly the same

You would need to get a cab/transportation to the entrance or town area.

The port is not conducive to walking and it a good distance.

Also, you can carry them on in any port, if that is convenient.

Thanks for the info on canned coke.  Glad to know it will taste the same.  Now, does anyone know the price?  Need to compare it to the ~$2 per can on board.

I just Googled the cost of a can of Coke in Italy. Looks like an individual Coke is around 2 euros. Yikes!

Thanks.  That makes it just about $2.25 USD so I think I'll save myself the trouble and just get the $2 Princess cans.

Last week I paid 4 euros for 1.5 liter of Diet Coke in Brussels.

I have never tried regular coke in Italy but I found that the diet coke(or Coke light) didn't taste the same as in the US.

The previous package included canned soda. The current package does not.

 

That meant the previous package could be used for soda at Princess Cays where they only have soda in cans. The current package cannot be used there for soda.

Can you bring bottled soda on board as well?  Thinking the 6 or 8 pack instead of cans.

I paid over 2 Euros in Ireland for small bottle, 12 oz, of Coke.  Closer to 2.50 USD. per bottle. Last week

Plastic bottles are best & you can reseal the bottle to save some for another time.

Sodas we found in London and Barcelona grocery stores were only sold individually: no 6, 8 or 12 packs. All the cruise port stores had empty coolers where the sodas should have been.

My personal experience with the premium beverage package is that 50% of the time when ordering a soda I would be given the whole can whether it be a Coke or Sprite and 90% of the time if I ordered a root beer
