Thanks for the details. Disappointing that there isn't a choice of bottles of wine - maybe could trade in all 4 for a nice bottle. 🙂 For your mini bar, was there any flexibility on the items stocked (e.g., liquor or soda choice). Thanks!

To be honest we did not request changes in selection for minibar. We loved La Crema wine and happy with the vodka and Heineken. I used the Evian everyday also.

I think the price is about to go up. If it is on your Cruise Planner and you wish to purchase it, you may want to go for it now. I found this flyer that isn't released yet, but may be the future price.

It looks like the Drinks and More Package will be $85 per day + $17 per day gratuities = $102/day ($1428 for 2 on a 7 night cruise). If the price goes up, the upgrade from Premium would be $16/day + 3.20 = $19.20/day ($268.80 for 2 for a 7 night cruise)  or $26/day from Classic + 5.20 = $31.20/day to upgrade.($436.80 more for 2 on a 7 night cruise).

Is my math correct? It's a huge difference from the original pricing.

Purchase $102/day PP

Classic upgrade to Drinks and More - $31.20/day PP

Premium upgrade to Drinks and More = $19.20/day PP

If so, those of you who purchased it at the lower rate did well. 🙂

Last night I saw 3 different prices for the Premium pkg. $35, $55 & $69. Also 3 prices for Classic. They were all good as I did a mock purchase that was viable purchases. What cruise was this flyer for?

Found it online on an X site. My feeling is that this will be rolled out as the new price for the Drinks and More package, but maybe was a misprint. Time will tell...

It is too much, in my opinion, as the Casino Credit more than likely will go back to them (the odds are in their favor), the wine bottles sound low end (would rather just get nicer glasses of wine with Premium pkg) and the wine tasting is worth $20-25 PP (and we have been to them many times). The only real value might be the mini bar, but it sounds pretty stripped down and we can get all the beverages on our own (and have them make nicer drinks) and there is too much food onboard to really need the minimal food items (would rather get fresh stuff at Cafe al Bacio). We will upgrade to Premium, but don't need to pay another $268.80 (2 X $19.20/day X 7 night cruise), mostly for the convenience of a few mini bar items.

The lower prices people received sound more reasonable so it's good that some were able to get those better prices (and maybe this is a typo and will never happen 😉).

When I called X about this they said it expired the end of Oct.  She said they were testing the promotion.  I asked if they were going to offer it again and she said to check around the middle of Dec to see if they are going to continue it.  We'll see.  Not holding my breath.  I really only care about the mini bar.  I always have a soda in the AM and PM before bed.  🙂

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey there, I booked on Celebrity Silhouette - Christmas/New Year Cruise. I booked Balcony and got the Gratuities and Classic Beverage Package (Promo 2 ). About two weeks later I noticed they added the Drinks & More package to my Cruise Planner Beverage Package options.. (it was listed at full price $102 NOTE: This was discounted already from $111 Regular pricing) and could not get upgrade pricing online). So I called in and was able to upgrade the Promo Classic Package to the Drinks & More Package. I was told they have a limited number of Drinks & More Packages available per Cruise.. I think that might be why some of you see the option and some don’t.. perhaps you missed it as they were at the max (The program did not end in Oct as I still see it as an option in the Cruise Planner) ??

Just added Drinks and More to my December 15 Edge sailing.  Cost to upgrade from premium was $126 for 2 people ($7.50/day plus 20% for 7 days).  I think (hope) that the perk is 2 bottles of wine plus $50 casino credit per guest.

MartinsCruise - as I always say....you can call Celebrity 10 different times, talk to 10 different agents and get 10 different answers...

Well, the agent I spoke with insisted it was "per day" and not per cruise (& I interrogated him quite thoroughly-he actually put me on hold & checked with a supervisor).  It would also not make any sense to pay only $89.10CDN one time fee for 2 bottles of wine, $50 casino play and a $35 Wine Experience - that would be "too good of a deal" for Celebrity - LOL.  The agent did tell me that this was in addition to having all the Premium drinks available in the package.  The words "mini bar" never crossed his lips. So....again....who knows!?!  We probably won't know until someone is onboard who purchased it.

Happy cruising,

Canuck

I called Celebrity yesterday to ask if I could use NR OBC at the casino and her answer was a flat out NO.  After reading some posts about it called back and another agent said yes you can. So 10 different agents = 10 different answers.

So odd that it's priced at less than the 'regular' premium package though! I wonder if that's introductory pricing just to see what kind of interest there is.

Sounds like this is an in cabin option.  And does not include drinks at the bars.

this included everything in the Premium Package plus the other perks.  So does include all the bar drinks

I just upgraded for my Feb 14th, 2020 cruise.  It's not available on board

Hey there,

The package includes (per person that upgrades in the cabin) as per marketing material on there site.

2 Bottle of wine

50.00 Casino Credit

Wine Tasting

Everything in Classic + Premium packages

Plus if both parties in the cabin upgrade to drinks & more the Mini Bar in room is also included and restocked once daily.

I’ve printed off the Drinks & More marketing material so I can bring with me in case any issues once on-board.

Drinks & More is only offered as a pre-booking option it won’t be available on ship once boarded.

I was also told when I called in that only a limited number of Drinks & More packages will be sold per sailing. But no one could tell me what the max number of upgrades per ship will be. So if you see it and it’s cheaper than Premium would be silly not to take advantage. worst case you don’t some of the extra perks but at least your getting the premium drink package cheaper 😉

hope that all makes sense

Maybe check the Cruise Planner every once in a while. It wasn’t listed for me when I booked and showed up two weeks later as an upgrade option. Keep an eye on the Cruise Planner 😉 you might also try calling in to see if its available and just not listed?? I just checked my booking and it’s still listed as an option.

I will keep my eye on it.  They may run a Thanksgiving special.

I’ve just looked and it’s available on our cruise which is for August 2020 £61.97 per day, however we already have the premium drinks package so I assume if we wanted this I’d have to call to see what we’d be charged?

From Premium it's $9.00 pp  per us per day

Thanks work2cruz, as this is our first X sailing, is there somewhere I can find out what’s included in the mini bar?

I have some friends cruising right now and asked them to take a pic of the mini bar paperwork - I'll post if I get it.

drakes2 - there is no surprise there...😄  I have also been told yes AND no for using OBC in casino - still don't know the "correct" answer!

Smooth sailing to you,

Canuck

I have used both non-refundable and refundable OBC in the casino.  On my cruise last week it was non-refundable.  It used to be that if you had refundable OBC you could use it in the casino and get cash for any amount remaining.  Now, whether or not the OBC is refundable or not (they don't differentiate and treat all OBC the same), if you use it in the casino they give you promo chips or put it directly on your card for the machine and you have to play it all in the casino and you can only cash out winnings.  For example, if you get $100 in OBC onto your card to use in the slot machines, and you play $10 and you win $100, so that you now have $190 showing in the machine, if you cash out you will get a $100 ticket for the amount you won winnings and the $90 you did not yet play from you OBC goes back on your card as promo and you have to play it in that machine or another machine.
