Cruise ship viewing at Dover

I don’t know if anyone can help me, but is there anywhere now that you can view the cruise ships when they are in at Dover please? You used to be able to walk down the Prince of Wales pier, have a nice cuppa and cake at the lovely little cafe at the end and watch the ships sail but apparently the pier is now closed sadly.  We would love to go and see Saga’s new ship when she is in on 1 Sept but don’t want to drive down there only to find that we can’t get to see her.  Also we really need somewhere where it’s not a very long walk as we will have my 80 year old mum with me.  Thanks for any help you can give me!
