Southampton - Antique Shops?

On a turnaround day in Southampton I would love to go antique shopping. Are their antique shops in Southampton? If so, where would I find them?

Very very limited these days. 

 

Old Northam Road, which used to be the main route east out of the city centre but is now a blind road, was 90% antique & junk shops when I was a nipper but now has just a handful.

Best known is Cobwebs, at the far end of Old Northam Road - it specialises in ocean liner & other shipping memorabilia.

It's about a 30 minute walk from City & Ocean cruise terminals or 15 minutes walk from the city centre (the Bargate)

There are a few others scattered around the city,  but only Old Northam Road has a few together.

 

For worthwhile antique-hunting you'd need to head out of the city to places like Winchester or Lymington.

Antique fairs are more common than shops these days because of the commercial property rates.  You need the dates of course but if you look up either "Antiques Atlas" http://www.antiques-atlas.com/antique_fair/_southampton_antique_collectibles_markets/af2259

for fairs in the local area but not necessarily in the town.  Or "Grandma's Attic" who do hold fairs in town https://www.grandmasatticfairs.co.uk/
