Hello! I'm a crew member!

Recommended Posts

I'm currently in my hotel in Miami, resting, before joining Oasis tomorrow. It feels like I'm on a mini-vacation. It's so nice to have a little break in the middle of the contract. This is also a great time for me to edit all my YouTube videos.

Anyway, here's the new vlog.

How long is my contract?

It would be interesting to know if RCI would go through the expense of changing out 2-3 thousand working locks. It seems like an expense that does little to nothing to increase revenue.

I thought that I read that they are going to be using the smart lock system so wouldn't they then have to change the locks?

The digital key (used to open your cabin door) now shows up on the app for Oasis so it does appear that they changed out the locks.

this video is great. I love seeing crew/staff being able to enjoy the facilities and food on the island. That is awesome.

I will have to check this, but I assume so - seeing as our crew cabins have RFID.

Have a great time on Oasis.  Actually, I think your first cruise is the 24th and I'll be in the neighborhood on the Crystal Symphony.  If you go back to Oasis on the next contract we'll just miss again as I have a July B2B on Empress.

Hi Chris. I'm a long time reader of your posts, but I finally have a question.

Do the casino staff have discretion to offer free drinks to players? If so, is there a preferred way to ask?

For context, I'm a small-stakes, table game player, but I'm usually in the casino 2-3 hours a day when I sail. In other words, I'm not looking for a free drink just to scurry off to the Schooner Bar. I'm sure I'd be more apt to gamble later into the night if the drinks were comped, but for some reason, I have an aversion to paying by the drink in the casino. I guess I'm just used to Vegas where the drinks are always comped.

Thanks!
