Hello! I'm a crew member!

I had this an idea, but there are so many travel bloggers/vloggers already exploring these places.

I don't want to make videos that have already been done before.

I think the reason why my vlogs are quite good, is because I'm the first crew member to actually vlog my life onboard the ship.

Life onboard is still an awesome idea.

Something to consider regarding port of call vlogs - you're not really a tourist (because of how often you go to a port) and not a resident.  If you do these, you could do them from the point of view of "this is what a cruise ship employee likes to do at a port".

Yes I can understand this.  I guess what I meant was where is a good grocery store,  or what do you buy that you can't receive on the ship. Where are good places for treats that are specific to that port. Whatever you come up with,  I love watching.  Its fascinating to see how you live.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

I just wanted say thank you to everyone who has been watching my vlogs! I just hit 200 subscribers, and the channel is growing everyday! I had no idea there was going to be such a strong interest into the life of a crew member, and engaging with you guys has inspired me to make more content!

One day, I hope to make vlogs for Royal Caribbean full time!

I have a whole bunch of new videos to post, but as you can imagine, finding the time to edit and finding strong wi-if to post is quite difficult for me. I've just finished editing my Christmas vlog from Independence last year, so make sure to subscribe and look out for that!

Also, let me know if there's something you want to see me show/talk about. I need more video ideas.

This community is fantastic, and meeting you guys when you come onboard actually makes my day better! You're all so nice.

Thank you once again, and stay tuned for more content coming soon!

More behind the scenes stuff that us as guess don't have access to would be great!

I just made a note of this idea. Thanks. I'm currently putting together my video of Coco Cay!

I wanted to show more crew areas of the ship, but I don't think I'm actually allowed to. This could actually result in me losing my job.

Typically you can get permission from the Staff Captain, and anyone you video needs to agree to it.

video of what and where exactly the Walmart shuttle pick up is would be nice. We had a hard time finding it in Ketchikan. Needed to get to Walmart and had to ask 3 times where to find the free Walmart shuttle stop.

Are you inquiring about Nassau?

That's pretty much the only place Mariner goes.

Pretty sure the transport to Merrit Island WalMart has a charge. I see folks boarding it with tickets in hand.

Hey "Royal Caribbean Dude"! I look forward to seeing your new posts here. This thread is a cool idea 😄 My husband and I are old crew members from RCCL, and Mariner was one of my contracts (way back in 2004ish). I worked Guest Relations and my husband was stage staff (different ship, we weren't married then).

I always joked, if the passengers knew HALF the stuff that would go on behind the scenes, they'd be shocked. hahaha. You're keeping it clean..... NICE!

Yes, it's the one in Merrit Island. We have a crew shuttle that takes us for free.

That shuttle plus crew discounts were some of the reasons that crew badges for guests was discontinued.

Just posted my new video!

This was Christmas last year on Independence! Now this vlog was originally a lot longer, but I cut out all the footage I had from our Christmas crew party....just to be safe, and not get into trouble. Anyhow, let me know what you think!

AND, please subscribe to the channel if you haven't already! Will hopefully get round to posting my New Years video soon!

Chris, I'm not sure if this is a question you're authorized to answer but I'll ask anyway.  I think a few days ago your ship had a medical disembarkation in Fort Lauderdale.  Did you need to do an emergency closing of the casino, and for how long?

Yay.  I grew up on Merritt Island.  🙂  It's changed a lot in recent years.  Not doing so well lately.

Yes, we stopped on Fort Lauderdale for 1 hour for a medical disembark. Services on the ship closed for 1 hour, so it didn't really make any difference to the cruise.
