Diving Virgin isles and Nassau

I have booked a first time Caribbean cruise in May next year, MSC Seaside which visits San Juan, Charlotte Amilie in the virgin isles , Nassau and then the MSC Ocean cay island.

Is there any diving in the Virgin isles ? I have read up about Nassau and would love to do the shark dive but we don't arrive until Noon , leaving at 8pm so I think I will be pushing it to meet the dive trips.  I have no idea  what Ocean cay area is like or if there are dive excursions. Thanks.

Yes, St. Thomas has very good diving.  It appears Blue Island Divers, which did a lot of business with cruise customers, has closed down.  I've had good experience there with Aquamarine St. Thomas as well.

I have not dived in Nassau, but have spent many days diving in the USVI.  Loved it!  Lots of places to go, offering all kinds of dives.  It is going to depend a little on the amount of time you have in port, but there are lots of places close by to dive and get back after a quick 2-dive trip.  I have never looked for dives while visiting on a ship, but you will find lots of alternatives.

I checked on diving in Nassau for my cruise in Dec. Because of the ships morning arrival times the only diving available was through the ship.

For you ship's arrival time at noon could be a good thing. Stuart's Cove has a two tank afternoon dive that starts at 1 pm. SC is HAL's contract dive shop so I don't know if you could book them separately. Here's a link. Contact them and find out.

Thanks, I did contact Stuarts cove but they pick up at 11.30am from the port so it's not open for me to do the afternoon dives, I might be able get a taxi and rush to the dive shop directly to make the 1.00pm but that would depend on how quickly I could get off the ship, so I will go diving in St Thomas instead. Thanks for the reply's.
