Taxi cost from Newark to Cape Liberty pier

We’re flying in to Newark the day before our Anthem cruise and need to figure out transportation from our hotel near the airport to the pier and then from the pier to the airport.  I’m thinking taxi is easiest.  What would the cost be?  Is it easy to get a taxi when we get off the ship? We’re not interested in bus service or Uber/Lyft but would consider a car service.

Uber and Lyft have really wiped out a lot of the traditional taxis and whats left aren't that desirable (old, beat up cars) and often cost more. Most locals would use either of these services because of the convenience, higher quality, and price being generally less than a taxi.

Dial 7 or Carmel are about $50 for a black car. Ubers are about $20. Taxis are $25-35 but can run on the meter so traffic will make an impact. If you use a taxi make sure to try and negotiate a flat rate if you can and pay attention to the tolls-- taxis at Newark are notorious for doubling them to scam you-- something you wont need to pay attention to if you use a car service or Uber.
