Will Royal open new bookings on the shortened cruises?

Recommended Posts

Just curious if Royal will open up for new bookings at a discounted rate?  We are on Allure and it looks like we will be able to make it down to FLL on Wednesday.  A couple of friends may want to go.  I realize they wont get the FCC and OBC but fares may be reduced.

Anyone with experience on this?

On the 7 day Allure in 2018 that became a 10 day they were offering the folks onboard as low as $400 per cabin to stay in a balcony for the 4 day.  Lots accepted because their houses didn't have power.  Even then, the 4 day sailed with only 1400 people (airport was still closed).  So I would guess that if people can make it to the port they could book some really good deals.

Doesn't hurt to ask!  Don't see anything on the web site so you likely would have to call.  They probably don't know how many cancellations they have yet.

MyTime dining was weird.  Had about 12 customers in the dining room and over 50 waiters the first night, all wanting to help our normal waiters.  After that night they closed one dining room and gave half the wait staff time off (worked every other night plus normal buffet duties).  Crew also allowed to attend shows and mingle with guests.  People booked on the shortened cruise got 50% back as OBC and 50% back as a future credit, and 50% off on things like drink packages.  Downside was cruise only went to Nassau.

On the Irma extended 10-day cruise on Oasis in 2017, they did not allow anyone not currently onboard or booked for the following shortened cruise to book. We asked if our daughter could pay to join me and they said no.
