New Orleans Port - Uber

I would like to know anyone's recent experience getting an Uber after disembarking in New Orleans.  Thanks.

This is not first-hand, but from a friend. Uber has a marked pickup site at the terminal. Service was fairly quick.

Works very well from the port. I find Ubers in New Orleans in general to be of a higher quality than the local taxis and they are typically a little less expensive.

Thanks for the feedback.  I was planning to take an Uber the 45 minute drive to my home from the port.

I've never used Uber, but we're looking for options from the port back to the hotel. We're staying the night before the cruise and the hotel offers a shuttle TO the port, but not a return shuttle. We're parking there so have to go back afterwards. My concern with Uber is cargo space. We'll probably have three large suitcases (28"). Would the average Uber vehicle be able to handle this or would it require bumping up to an XL or whatever they are? Not really looking to pay a lot more for one of the bigger vehicles if we can avoid it. Are the taxis mini-vans?

Hi sailed on Valor September 9-14.  I used Lyft.   In less than 10 minutes my ride was there.  The app had several cars in the port area and he had just dropped off and circled around for my request. 

It was quick and easy and I was at my post hotel in no time
