Specialty restaurant best time to purchase for best price

When is the best time to purchase specialty restaurant pkgs. what’s the best price you have gotten by doing it this way..?

There's no discernable pattern to when the "best price" appears.  Keep watching your Cruise Planner, if you see a lower price, cancel and reorder.

Just off Adventure.  On the next to the last day, I overheard the Giovanni's guy saying to a potential customer, "I can give you 30% off."

I have never looked at the prices onboard, but there are always staff outside Windjammer trying to sell the specialty restaurants. How do those prices compare to what you can buy pre-cruise?

Those offers from the staff on board are variable.  You can't really compare before your cruise because you don't know what those roving people will be giving.

Going on Symphony OTS in Nov. I used Cruise Planner and bought UDP Unlimited Dining Pkg 2 months ago for $175. Last week RCI offered a special to me for $195.

So,  you can never tell what, when, where or why. 

Like they say- it is a crap shot. Roll the dice and hpe you win.
